What would the wise King Solomon think about voting for leaders as we now do in the USA instead of leaders being appointed by Kings?
The concept of a Democratic Republic based on a written Constitution with guaranteed rights for citizens to vote to choose their leaders did not materialize until thousands of years after the reign of King Solomon. However, I can surmise what his thoughts would be, based on his proverb.
Consider the problems that now exist in the USA when you read this proverb that have been caused as a result of voter foolishness by reelecting over and over again the same inept political leaders.
As a dog returns to his vomit, a fool returns to his folly. (Proverb 26:11)
In my personal opinion, we need term limits to cure and clean up the dogged voter’s mess caused by a continuous occurrence of this foolish malady running rampant in Illinois and Washington DC.
As for the wise King Solomon, he would be spinning in his grave if he could hear or read the news reports about all the folly being reported daily in Chicago and the USA.
Regards and good will blogging.
