In a previous post on 9/21/2015, referenced below, I posed a question after this statement.
“President Obama is now making plans to allow Muslim Syrian refugees in the USA. Is this wise?”
Facts have since been reported about the Paris massacre and other factors which bear out my concerns.
- A Syrian passport was found on one of the terrorists.
- In a congressional committee which took place a few weeks ago, US security advisers stated there is no guarantee when the asylum seekers are screened before entry to identify all refugees as being a potential terrorist. That is because, if the person being screened does not have any prior records or identification as having terrorist affiliations, the terrorist could conceivably be approved.
- Also, our security administrators stated that adding the proposed immigration influx will only exasperate their present security tasks.
- It has been reported that the refugees are comprised of approximately 80 percent males between the age of 18 and 34. Common sense would be in my opinion, that these men are not all political asylum seekers, but men seeking employment or other reasons or motives to exodus Syria or other regions.
If you are now thinking my statements are not compassionate about the misery of innocent Syrians and other victims in war torn countries who need help, allow me to explain what I consider would be a wiser way to help them.
Provide United Nation’s safe zones for war refugees in their own countries to temporarily flee to and help them by providing food and medical services until the conflict is resolved. This by the way, is what the Prime Minister of England has stated publically to be his solution to the current migration problem being experienced in Europe.
The USA is at war even though our Congressional leaders refuse to declare war. It is foolish in my opinion to take unnecessary risks to endanger American lives. Terrorists perceive us as their enemy because we side against them and are dropping bombs in their country. Justified or not, the fact is that every bomb we drop that serves to kill someone, will also serve to make a new lifelong enemy of the family and friends of the person killed or injured.
If you track back on every attack against the USA, you will discover each attack has been an act of retaliation for a perceived US involvement in the Mid-East. Dating back when President Raegan bombed Libya in 1986 and President Clinton ordered bombing in 1998 in Afghanistan and Sudan in retaliation for terrorist bombings.
Distance may reduce the risk of harm only if you manage to keep the enemy distanced from you and prevent the use of modern technology that reduces distance.
King Solomon also recognized in life there may be “a time for peace and a time for war” that can happen when parties enter into a foolish war rather than find a wise peaceful way to solve a conflict or issue.
When this happens, in my opinion, it is naïve, foolish, and reckless to be in a war and not believe the enemy will never seek to find ways to retaliate. It is even more foolish when you know how the enemy plans and operates from past experience. If knowing their plans, we still do not take every necessary precaution to reduce the known risks, we are fools. In other words, when you are at war, you are at risk of the consequences of war. Declare war and make use of any or all war powers acts to protect USA citizens should be the first priority of our representatives.
The wise are cautious and avoid danger; fools plunge ahead with reckless confidence. (Proverb 14:16)
A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences. (Proverb 22:3)
I also believe that the USA is being used as a cat’s paw in the Mid-East. I explain my reasons in this previous post HERE.
In today’s address, Obama stated he will not change his policy or promise to accept war refugees. I sometimes wonder if he does not realize when he sits in meetings with world leaders, he should qualify his statements. In other words he should not assume when he makes a promise that Congress will agree with him. He should state, I promise……….”subject to final approval by Congress,”
What I Will Do
Because Congress has the final authority for all visa and immigration quotas or policies, I am going to contact my two Congressional representatives to voice my opinion. I want to know if they agree with the President to allow conflicting reports of 10,000 to 200,000 war refugees into the USA at the same time we are at war and cannot guarantee we can identify who may be terrorist.
That way I know who not to vote for in the next election. I also am of the opinion that a foolish Congressional representative will more than likely make foolish decisions.
Regards and goodwill blogging.
