Was the Supreme Court wrong about flag burning decision and gay marriage?
Flag burning issue furor is in the news again. It reminded me of a previous post and this statement made by Justice Kennedy and a King Solomon three thousand year old Ecclesiastes statement.
“On July 15, 2015, I read an article in the Chicago Tribune of a statement made by Justice Kennedy about his recent gay marriage Supreme Court opinion. He compared the present furor over his gay marriage decision with the flag burning furor and predicted it will calm down in time.”
I have seen all the works which have been done under the sun, and behold, all is vanity and striving after wind. What is crooked cannot be straightenedand what is lacking cannot be counted. (Ecclesiastes 1:14.15)
Are these wisdom writings applicable to flag burning and gay marriage or out of context?
