Should we ponder Representative Nancy Pelosi’s request to remove all Confederate Civil War statues in Washington in relation to the words of King Solomon, Abraham Lincoln, and Jude?

In My Opinion
I believe the best thing to do to solve the statue controversy is to place a plaque on every Civil War Statue for every onlooker to ponder.
Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.
Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battle-field of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of that field, as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that that nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.
But, in a larger sense, we can not dedicate—we can not consecrate—we can not hallow—this ground. The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here, have consecrated it, far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here. It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. Congress decides to remove the statues, should we next burn all the Civil War History Books?
Or should we take the advice of Jude in this song verse to accommodate, Her, (Nancy Pelosi and the Confederate Civil War Statues.)

How’s this for a compromise?
If Pelosi resigns, the statues in question will be taken down….
THEN…………….after she leaves her post, the statues will be re-erected. She should have read the fine print.

Some people think before they speak, and some do not,
Pelosi is what I cosidered to be the best reason for the need for term limits in Congress in my opinion.
Thank s for your suggestion.,however I believe term limits would sAve a lot of time. money, and energy to take down and then put the statues back again.

About the only thing I can remember my father trying sing was “Hey Jude”.
The Gettysburg Address idea actually is a good one. If such a notion does not become popular, Democrat Liberals will deface every monument, not just the Confederate Monuments, with politically correct garbage.

It is the same tactic gangs use to mark their territory in Chicago. Even watch a long freight train pass by all painted up with gangland markings. Some of it is almost art and must have required a lot of time and paint.
These gang members need to get a job in my opinion. They have too much time on their hands.
Same as life time politicians based on the amount of time they spend making comments to news media instead of in the chambers of Congress which never is always empty when I listen to C span?.

Why the sudden, fervent push to remove historical symbols, statues, and art? Isn’t this art an extension of generation’s past “free speech”? Protesting racism or any other “ism” is a right that ends at our neighbors nose, or the nose of our publicly owned statue. The courts are open and there is a path to legal moving, removing, or rethinking public art and or symbols.

A discussion between two opposing parties that leads to a compromise is what should take place in a Democracy is what I seem to remember is what my my high 60 years ago when a civics course was mandatory to graduate.

If we remove all the statues, does that mean slavery never happened? Of course not. Trying to erase history doesn’t work either. Anyone with any intelligence knows that we may not like to learn his, but it’s the only way to learn how not to repeat it.

Seems logical to me. However, history has been repeating for three thousand years since Solomon wrote his wisdom, unfortunately, human folly keeps repeating the same follys over and over again.
In other words, statues really wont solve anything. We humans just refuse to wise up.
