An example of twisted word meanings….or ?
The Chicago Tribune Article titled, Refusing to stand for the national anthem is also a patriotic act.
I wonder if this is an example of a deliberate liberal news commentary, or an accidental misnomer?

The slothful man saith, There is a lion without, I shall be slain in the streets. (Proverb 22:13)
The slothful man saith, there is a lion without,…. Or, “in the street”. This he says within himself; or to those who call out to him, and put him on doing the business of his proper calling, whether in the field or elsewhere, which, through his slothfulness, he has a disinclination to; and therefore frames excuses, and suggests this and that difficulty or danger in the way, expressed by a “lion without”; and which shows the folly and weakness of his excuses, since lions do not usually walk in cities, towns, and villages, and in the streets of them, but in woods and mountains;
I shall be slain in the streets; by the lion there; or I shall never be able to get over the difficulties, and through the dangers, which attending to business will expose me to. Some apply this to the difficulties that slothful persons imagine in the learning of languages, arts, and sciences; as Jarchi applies it to the learning of the law. (Gils Bible Commentary HERE)
In My Opinion
I do not know if the writer was unaware of his misnomer title.
You would think that an editor would have questioned the title,……… or something else? Perhaps, a trademark political strike instead. as described in the above No. 2 definition of the UK description of patriotic?
In my opinion, the title should be political act instead of patriotic act.
Ia Kneeling a Political or Patriotic Act?
Is the Chicago Tribune writer, politically liberal or conservative, mistaken, or confused?
Should kneelers worry about the real lions (issues) whereabouts?
Are the lions (issues) in the ballpark, or in certain streets of our nation?
If not in the ballpark, are kneelers engaging in a slothful act by not taking action to confront the lion in the streets where real lions (issues) are wandering about?
