USA news article today affirms another one of Solomon’s proverbs written 3000 years ago.
The Chicago Tribune article titled, Final overdoses again cut life expectancy in US, reports CDC.
What is most significant is that this is the second year in a row that USA life expectancy has decreased. The main reason is the huge 21 percent increase in drug overdoses.
Aside from people afflicted with terrible pain from diseases or accidents, drug addiction is an affliction of individual foolish choices. The result being a lower lifespan.
King Solomon
Long life is in her (Wisdom) right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. (Proverb 3:16
What is My Point
Notice I included sickness and accidents as a reason for wise uses of drugs. Recreational use in foolish when it lowers a person’s lifespan. I have written numerous posts on my concern that legalizing marijuana will result in higher auto and truck accidents, as well as lung and body diseases.
If interested, in my blog articles, enter marijuana in the search feature of my blogs.
One previous article described how King Solomon advised when it is wise to give wine, or any drug to a person. That time is when the person is dying.
In My Opinion
Sadly, the USA average lifespan will continue to decline if we do not wise up.
You Decide
Is our nation dying from folly?
Is the motto of this blog wise or foolish?
“What the world needs now in addition to love is wisdom.”
Regards and goodwill blogging.

Marijuana legalization will ultimately lead to more social and health problems in America and Canada.
I wrote a funny post (275 words) called “Why Marijuana Should Not Be Legal Until Age 25.” If you would like to read it, I am open to any feedback: https://christopherjohnlindsay.wordpress.com/2017/12/20/marijuana/

moderation, too much salt will kill you, every plant put on the planet is there for a reason, just because some abuse or misuse it, does not mean it ought to be banned, wisdom. as leonard cohen would say, there is no black or white, just space in between, amen

If you are referring to legalized recreational marijuana in your statement about plants are put on earth for a purpose, and “just because some abuse it, or misuse it us a reason it ought not to be banned,” is not the answer to the reason why marijuana plants are on earth.
There is modern scientific proof that when ever anyone uses recreational marijuana, it’s use will harm their mind and body over time.
Logically then, whoever uses it for recreational purposes, is abusing and missing their body.
In my opinion, if someone is sick or dying, a plant like marijuana can be used to lessen the pain of their misery is why marijuana is a plant.
So just because it is wise and legal to sell and use rat poison to impede rats lifespans on earth, it is not wise to use marijuana to impede human brains during their short lifespans on earth, in my opinion.
Should marijuana be banned by government is the choice voters will make in a Republic like the USA.
The end result is the same as any choice, those who do not want it banned to prevent greater use in their communities, and higher risks for minors to obtain and use it.
Those who do not use it will be wiser and healthier over time.
Just because wisdom leads to long life, folly does not.
Regards and good will blogging.
