Would you agee to a wise right, just, and fair interim solution for our military personnel during the Government Shutdown?
The Government shutdown will cause our military troops paychecks to be withheld until Congress agrees on a short or longtime spending budget.
Since members of Congress will still be paid in spite of the Government shutdown, I believe it would be wise, fair, and equitable for an interim Bill be passed by Congress.
What Bill?
Congress should propose a Interim Budget Bill to allow our military personnel to be paid until a long term budget resolution is passed?
Let’s face it, the military will be paid sometime, why make them borrow money to make ends meet in the interim?
Wise legislation can be taught with wise example. If Congress wants to lead by example to teach the people they represent to live disciplined and successful lives, they need to be examples themselves, of what is right, just, and fair.
King Solomon
Their purpose is to teach people to live disciplined and successful lives, to help them do what is right, just, and fair. (Proverb 1:3)
In My Opinion
It is folly, and a travesty, for Congress to be paid while at the same time, the military is not paid.
The military should be given the same opportunity to be an example of right, just, and fair treatment as Congress displays how they live disciplined and successful lives.
You Decide
Who would you choose to be more deserving of a paycheck during the Government Shutdown, Congress or the Military?

I agree. I believe the House of Representatives have already passed a Department of Defense budget appropriation so it is ready to be approved by the Senate.

Why does Congress get paid during a government shutdown? It is in the Constitution. See => https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2018/jan/20/members-congress-still-get-paychecks-during-govern/.
I agree Congress should not be playing such games with our military over something as absurd as legalizing the presence of people whose parents sneaked them into our country. What kind of leaders hold the safety of their own people hostage for the sake of foreign intruders?
Consider the irony. Congress — YES, CONGRESS — created the problem of illegal immigration because they won’t do what is required to defend our borders. So how do they propose to “fix” the problem? Democrats apparently think the solution is to not pay our soldiers. Really!
To add insult to injury, my congressman, Rob Wittman, was the only Republican member from Virginia’s delegation to the House to vote against H.R. 195: Continuing appropriations through February 16, 2018 (see => https://www.govtrack.us/congress/votes/115-2018/h33).
What was Wittman’s excuse? Here (https://wittman.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=1773) is what he says. Basically, what it comes down to is that he does not like continuing resolutions. Is that really a good reason not to fund the government at all? Of course not. As it is, he is just engaging in pointless grandstanding. There are enough votes in the House to get something done without him, which he no doubt knew in advance.
What about my two senators? Well, Tim Kaine and Mark Warner are both Liberal Democrats and part of the problem, not the solution (see => https://www.govtrack.us/congress/votes/115-2018/s14.

Tom,
like I said before, I love reading your replies, same as someone with a broken leg will listen to everyone tell him or her of their ailments. Kinda like,
“Misery love scompany”
Thanks for your reblog. Our military deserves better treatment for their service.
Five idealist friends of my grandson joined the military this past year after graduating high school.
What a sad way for Congress to reward and encourage young idealist minds to serve their nation.

Oh amen to this! Congress should absolutely not be paid during a shut down. In what other industry besides government can employees continually fail to do their jobs year, after year (in this case not pass a budget on time) and not only not get fired but get pay raises and perks along the way.
In addition to withholding payments for Congress, there are plenty of other non-essential payments that could be stopped so important things like the military can continue uninterrupted.

Tricia,
The military are being used as pawns in a devious game of political chess.
They lost their king, and are crying and carrying on like a bunch of spoiled children, in my opinion.
