Would you discern that your news source abides by Journalism Ethics, or is a troublemaker?
In Previous Post Two
I stated I will explore how news media interpolates certain news articles to reveal a political opinion or agenda instead of providing objective news reports to help voters decide the issues.
CNN Jim Acosta
Two Chicago Tribune articles titled, What Journalist Do, and, Trump Insults CNN Reporter, Trump claims the video was not altered, reports past Presidents unfavorable comments about news sources and accuses Trump as being a villain for impeding Journalism for suspending Jim Acosta white house credentials.
Purpose of This Post
To make readers aware that there is a Code of Journalism Ethics to discern the differences between ethical news journalism.
There is a difference between ethical news reports and, and news columnists and/or pundits opinions.
In addition, there are news troublemakers who may be adding to the growing political gap that is dividing our nation.
And to propose an ageless wise solution, in my opinion, to hopefully begin to narrow the growing gap dividing our nation.
King Solomon
Even small children are known by their actions, so is their conduct really pure and upright?(Proverb 29:11)
Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.(Proverb 22:15)
Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will be stationed in the presence of kings; he will not stand before obscure men. (Proverb 22:29)
If Interested
In the Source Links below is the CNN video of what transpired along with the Chicago Tribune articles, Journalism ethics, and related information about the differences between news reports and news opinions. Also, a blog post titled, Can We Bridge the Gap that Divides Us. .
What’s My Point?
I recommend you discern the information and compare your opinion to mine of what occurred to the information.
In My Opinion
While the Journalism Code of Ethics encourages journalists to be aggressive, there is a red line of being disrespectful to the Office of the President, or in ancient times a King, which differentiates between childish troublemaker, or a journalist worthy to be present at a Presidential News Conference.
Any parent, teacher, or business manager, if confronted with the behavior, might agree with me that Jim Acosta behavior at the Presidential News Conference resembles the behavior of a troublemaker child deserving of an ageless “timeout”: discipline.
In my opinion, we all need to take a timeout to discern that if we continue to encourage journalism and opinions to divide our nation, there are consequences as evidenced by history.
Perhaps instead of listening to news commentary we all should tune off and listen to C Span to discern how politicians conduct themselves when they debate and discern for ourselves if they are competent and wise enough to be deserving to represent us and our votes in the next election to represent us..
Or do they behave like troublemaker children and deserving of a more permanent “time out” in the next election?
You Decide
If you were President Trump, a parent,, teacher, or a business manager and was had someone act in the manner Jim Acosta displayed, what would you do?
I and millions of others stopped watching Late Night Shows because the hosts crossed the red line. Perhaps we all need to do the same with the news sources crossing red lines of Journalism and giving opinions which cross the red line of civility, wisdom, and respect that is furthering the gap.
Was Jim Acosta’s behavior-wise or foolish in relationship to King Solomon’s above Proverbs?
Would you consider your news sources to be troublemakers in relation to King Solomon Proverbs in Previous Posts One and Two?
Frankly, I agree with a comment that instead of reading the news, we should instead read the Bible..
Regards and good will blogging.

I’m with you! Journalism has crossed the line but thankfully there are a few out there who do report the news. I enjoyed watching One America News (OAN). But we changed providers and it’s no longer available-so I read their on-line version.
But actually, I prefer my news from the Bible! It refreshes my spirit and feeds my soul!

You have missed the entire point. Ask yourself the question.. if indeed the press seems hostile.. then why THIS president? In the same press conference and in a followup gaggle as he was leaving the White House, Trump was totally uncivil to April Ryan, calling her a loser.. and another black female reporter calling her question stupid and racist. No.. sorry… the story is NOT about Acosta or CNN… it’s always about Trump. The “Acosta” press conference just reflected a pissed off Trump and inside his uncivil rhetoric toward reporters because of the midterm election results. Ethics?? Then let’s discuss presidential ethics.
As we speak, CNN is filing a lawsuit and asking for a temporary injunction to have his credentials restored until the case is adjudicated. It may or may not happen.. but free press will get it’s day in court for sure. The travesty is that never in U.S. history has a sitting president been so against a free press and pulling press access… and never in the history of the U.S. has a news organization been forced to sue the White House for indiscriminate and unsubstantiated removal of press access.
So.. again.. ask yourself the question… if the press (except for the FOX Ministry of Propaganda) is asking tough questions and Trump refuses to answer them, ON TOP OF a sitting president accusing the press of being the enemy of the people, why do you think any of this is happening at all? Just take a guess. Trump?
Ethics is a two way street and before you use that argument to defend the Great Leader consider what he himself is guilty of.

Doug,
When the Press disrespects the Office of the President, they disrespect you, me, and our nation. in my opinion,
Spend some time watching Presidential News Conferences and notice that Trump appears to respond “in kind” when he is attacked personally. .
Beauty in the eyes of the beholder.
We all need a timeout from news troublemakers.
Like the comment made on this blog, , read the Bible instead, and perhaps you
I, or me, may find a better beauty for your eyes and mind, in my opinion.

There’s been no press disrespect to the President or his office… none. The disrespect is what Trump has shown to the office which he holds.
Also… it’s not about “reading the Bible”, it’s all about comprehending then applying what you read in the Bible into actionable moral behavior. When do you think the President will do that?

Doug,
Even Jesus Christ in the Bible got mad and overturned tables in the Temple when he became disgusted with money changers in his House, (our Nation)
Jesus Christ also was “crusified,” for doing so, kinda similar, in my opinion, of certain journalists using thier power of the press are doing to Presiddent Trump.
Same for the Wahington DC swampers who are fearful of losing their poweer and profits.

Now you are comparing the result of Trump’s immoral escapades as being comparable to the experiences of Christ??? omg. And you wonder why the Left prefers secularism?

@Doug
We are all suppose to model Jesus Christ. None of us do it perfectly.
The vast majority of the news media coverage is biased in favor of Democrats. Because of the Internet and cable, that has gotten more obvious. When news mostly came from TV and radio over the airwaves, the FCC could threaten the licenses of broadcasters. So the bias tended to be more subtle. Those days have gone. That’s why Obama went after the Internet. The politicians prefer a disguised bias.

Would you feel better if I said I was comparing Jesus behavior to Acosta if you believe Trump is crucifying Acosta?
OMG, I wonder if that would make make the Left prefer religion?

As I am constantly trying to justify in my own my, Tom, why do Conservatives need to constantly invoke religion to explain or justify politics?

Doug,
In my opinion, perhaps Christians regard religion as being “the way, truth and light in their lives. …..same as the framers of the Constitution.
What do others have to guide them that they can believe, trust, and have faith in,……is what you can perhaps explain?

One can aspire to Christian virtues and not be so “loud” about it.. in my certainly humble opinion. Now, some will present the case that it’s inherent with most religious teachings that one must “spread the word” as part of their role inside the faith. I suppose that might make some sense if a person declares themselves to be a holder to no particular faith and has an issue with their moral compass. But that in itself does not disqualify a person from following the Golden Rule in their lives because that essentially is what all religions ultimately promote. Don’t get me wrong.. I am not dissing religion, I am taking issue that not all real life decisions/actions for survival… or governance… can be based entirely on spiritual faith.

Here’s an example.. as your everyday member of Congress I might be forced to make a decision that could be right for the country.. or more to the point, what I personally perceive as being right for the country.. and it may not follow faith but it might be correct for my fellow man.
Faith.. the Golden Rule.. allows us to begin our decision-making processes to want to do what is right for all or most, without harming all or most. But the end result of our action or inaction may not follow spiritual teaching, but may be “right” regardless. If you’re in public office to try and convince the country that your idea of a national theocracy is the only way… you’re likely not going to get much accomplished.
