Is this innovation a wise or foolish generational “loop” back to a 3000-year-old Bible verse?

The Chicago Tribune article titled, Big Brands Team Up on Loop, etc., reports a new “innovation” to help save our planet.

The Purpose of This Post

Is to use this “innovation” report as an example of an ancient wisdom Biblical verse.

King Solomon

Ecclesiastes 1:9 New International Version (NIV)

What has been will be again,
    what has been done will be done again;
    there is nothing new under the sun.

What’s My Point?

This new innovative start-up company named itself “Loop” which is basically returning to a previous generation practice of using reusable containers.

Most of us old-timers well remember as kids saving up taking bottles back to the store for a two-cent deposit to use for spending money. We remember the junk man truck or horse pulled cart driving down alleys calling out for recyclables and paying people who collected them in their basements.

Then innovation came along to use disposable containers and the result is what we have now. Lack of landfills, pollution, etc., on our limited planet. However, no one appeared to have been wise enough to discern the long-term environmental effects to our planet.

In other words, this article is reporting a new enterprise and idea taking shape labeled innovation when in fact the idea is a return to common sense on recyclable containers/

In My Opinion

I hope this new enterprise is successful for the sake of our planet and future generations.

We humans, keep repeating the same mistakes of previous generations. For some reason, we do not teach wisdom in our schools. Instead, we learn by experience, some good or bad, wise or foolish.

The irony is regardless of every new generation, we keep repeating the same follies of as evidence in the history of the Bible and verses written three thousand years ago.

For example, wars, crime, pollution, etc. etc.
