Legalizing marijuana will lead to making it more available to minors, same as alcohol, exponentially?
The Chicago Tribune article titled, New Trier Officials: Binge Drinking grew exponentially, reported, “officials now plan to launch a new prevention approach that further enlists parents to help tackle a problem they said has become, “a community adolescent health issue.”
Definition of exponential Merriam-Webster
1: of or relating to an exponent (alcohol, marijuana use)
2: involving a variable in an exponent 10x is an exponential expression (10x or 1000 times, or more users?)
3: expressible or approximately expressible by an exponential function especially: characterized by or being an extremely rapid increase (as in size or extent) an exponential growth rate
When righteous men do rejoice, there is great glory: but when the wicked rise, a man is hidden. Proverbs 28:12
What’s My Point?
Illinois is about to approve legalized recreational marijuana with a stipulation that a person must be 21 to purchase or use it.
That is the same stipulation for alcohol now.
The article reports some parents introduce their own kids to alcohol in high school to prepare them what they will be exposed to “exponentially” in college.
My point is binge drinking alcohol or use of marijuana will increase in use by minors exponentially once legalized marijuana becomes legal and more available.
Or, according to above definition, “an extremely rapid increase (as in size or extent) an exponential growth rate……same as this article reports about alcohol use by minors over time.
Read the article and a previous post in the Source Links below of the apples and oranges of alcohol and marijuana according to the CDC, Center of Disease Control of the USA, and find out who is the “hidden man” in the proverb.
If you agree that legalized marijuana should become law in Illinois, do you believe more underage will experiment with marijuana over time, same as they do with alcohol?
Will more use of marijuana result in more adolescent youths’ brains be harmed as stated by the CDC?
“Do the hidden men” or women in Illinois leadership, parents or politicians, pushing for legalized recreational marijuana really believe any underage law will not prevent more use by minors, exponentially?
Do you believe there will be the same result, “a community adolescent health issue” with legalized marijuana same as now reported with alcohol?
Regards and good will blogging.
