What are the missing elements to answer this riddle of politicians promise of Medicare for all?
The Chicago Tribune article titled, Democrats and the Perils – not just financial – of Medicare for all, stated that “A Medicare for all plan would in effect say to these people. “We are going to take away your current plan, but trust us, it will be less than you or your employer currently pay in premiums.”
The Purpose of This Post
Is to add the missing elements not included in this article which in my opinion is the core reason why Medicare for All will turn out to be the biggest political and economic disaster in American History.
As a dog returns to its vomit, so fools repeat their folly. (Proverb 26:11)
Let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance–for understanding proverbs and parables, the sayings and riddles of the wise. (Proverbs 1:5-6)
Like an earring of gold or an ornament of fine gold is the rebuke of a wise judge to a listening ear. (Proverb 25:12)
What’s My Point?
Everyone of the present major Democrats who are promising Medicare are either lifetime political incumbents, or have limited experience working in private industry. They frankly can not comprehend how well the present system of private employers paying a portion of medical insurance premium works better than will, Medicare for all.
In other words, they do not understand the above proverb that implies a wise man capability of being able to discern and understand the “riddles of the wise.”
We have now experienced Obamacare mounting costs, feasibility limits, broken promise that “you can keep your same doctor and it will be less costly,” and the effects of people working in private industry having to subsidize the costs of people who may not be working medical costs by their employers having to raise the medical deduction limits.
We also know that people who now have access to Medicare paid during their working career into a fund that was originally designed to cover their medical costs. Unfortunately, the fund will be depleted in the future mainly because it works so well that people who retire live longer and the rules were changed to include benefits to people that never pay into the fund.
My point is since we now have experienced Obamacare limitations the above proverb gives advice that if we now repeat the same folly of believing Medicare for all will work better than Obamacare, we are in effect about to “return to our vomit.”
So, what is the Answer to the Medicare Ear Ring Riddle?
I will give the answer in my next post to allow interested readers time to discern the answer.
However, I will give one clue. Only someone who has worked in private industry will be able to solve this riddle.
In other words. in my opinion, political activist leaders such as Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Dick Durbin, Bernie Sanders, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and the others named in the Chicago Tribune article, although probably well intentioned, are just not capable of solving this riddle because of their limited experiences of working in private industry.
