Are the Rights of a heartbeat autonomous that is being permanently “paused” or “prohibited” during an abortion?
The Chicago Tribune article titled, the ‘fetal heartbeat’ abortion ban and hit war on women’s autonomy stated the following opinion.
“To use the power of government to deprive women of control over such a profound and intimate matter should give anyone pause. But those pushing these prohibitions would do it in a heartbeat.”
The Purpose of this Post
Is to clarify the premise that a fetal heartbeat is autonomous of the mother? If not, does that fact mean the writer’s premise of autonomous was folly because the heartbeat is “self-governing state>” until such time as the law grants it to be permanently “paused” from being “self-governing?”
Definition of autonomy (Merriam Webster)
1: the quality or state of being self-governing especially : the right of self-government. The territory was granted autonomy.
2: self-directing freedom and especially moral independence personal autonomy
3: a self-governing state
King Solomon
In a lawsuit the first to speak seems right, until someone comes forward and cross-examines. (Proverb 18:17)
then I saw all that God has done. No one can comprehend what goes on under the sun. Despite all their efforts to search it out, no one can discover its meaning. Even if the wise claim they know, they cannot really comprehend it. (Ecclesiastes 8:17 NLV)
What’s My Point?
The Supreme Court Roe Wade decision made in 1973 did not include any evidence of a separate fetal heartbeat. The ultrasound technology was in its infancy in 1972.
Since the writer used the words “women’s autonomy,” his premise is in error, since the fetal heartbeat is a separate entity from the mother’s heartbeat,
In other words, the premise that the government grant of autonomy to the mother is folly.
In My OpinionOP
Our Declaration says this: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are (1) endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. … The purpose of Civil Government is to protect our God–given rights.
Perhaps the above Ecclesiastes verse gave advice on this issue. Perhaps the wise advice is that our Creator allowed his creations to discover ultrasound technology because He wanted us to discover the folly of the abortion issue is in contrast to His “God given rights.”

You Decide
Was it also perhaps the fact that ultrasound medical papers where discovered in 1972 to perhaps give His creations a clue to prevent the folly of the Roe Wade decision to be based on the word autonomous?
Did humans create the universe or was it created by an autonomous woman in a “self-governing state?”
Is the opinion of the Chicago Tribune writer a wise or foolish use of the words and use of “heartbeat” and “autonomy” on this issue?
Is the “purpose of Civil Government is to protect our God–given rights.”
Should having a newborn child a thing to die for, or live for, be a wise or foolish blessing or curse in the USA?

“Our Declaration…”
those disaster movies, the Hero is shot in the chest, the daughter sits there hoping, tears in her eyes, please don’t die, the audience prays for a heart beat, the monitor beeps, the crowd sighs, everyone has tears in their eyes, what a heart beat means, do we treat life the way we treat the oceans, as a convenience, used to dump, we need new eyes and ears, amen.

A heartbeat symbolizes life. No heartbeat. No life. When an unborn baby is it autonomous. No. Are any of us truly autonomous, able to survive completely by his or herself? No, and a child is dependent for at least a decade until after birth. Still, after a baby is born we do not kill that newborn.
What is the moral issue. When a man and woman consent to have sex whether they admit it or not, they assume moral obligations. Their first obligation is to each other. They have an obligation to become one, to honestly care for each other, ideally to love each other. Their second obligation is to any progeny, the fruit of their relationship. The gift of creation, once accepted, requires us to accept responsibility for those we bring into this world.

Thanks for your reply which confirms my thoughts for the next post about God’s wisdom and order for His creation vs. secular folly in relation to abortion.
