Will perhaps this post help to discern the core reason why the USA has the highest documented incarceration rate in the world?
The NEA article titled, Public Schools: As Good or Better Than Charter, Private Schools, stated. “In short, public schools are as good as or better than private schools.”
A Washington Times article titled, American education and intellectually bankrupt schools, asked this question, “How did we get in this mess? Intuitively we all know something is wrong.”
The Purpose of This Post
Is to attempt to identify the core reason of the failure of American Education and how it all began around 1904.
The wisdom of the prudent is to give thought to their ways, but the folly of fools is deception. (Proverb 14:8)
Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old, they will not turn from it. (Proverb 22:6)
let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance— (Proverb 1:5)
What’s My Point?
If we compare the incarceration rate chart since 1904 to the number of parochial or religious school closings in the same period,
In my opinion, we will find a direct correlation and answer why the high incarceration is prevalent in the USA.
In other words, public schools only teach and measure academic scores results. Whereas, private religious schools measure and value both religious character development results.
So how can we measure character results if: “Little information is publicly available about the religious lives of the approximately 1.6 million inmates in the U.S. prison system, …”
In other words, will measuring the inmate population of public vs. private school education to find out what type of schooling the inmates received answer the question of what they were taught in childhood?
In My Opinion
School vouchers will take a long time to correct the core reason of “how did we get into this mess.”
“For example, Chicago parochial school populations continue to decrease as neighborhood schools and parishes close down.
The NEA represents unionized teachers and their articles will be biased to the problem.
In my opinion, we need a study comparison to help us discern the truth of the failure of education in the USA to teach character based on religious values instead of secular civic values….
The truth being that not teaching religious values to our children in school got us in this mess and it is only going to get worse in time.

Did I discern how we got into this mess accurately, wise or foolish??
Will we cry in the future of the USA for the same reason Jerimiah cried 3000 years ago, no one listens.
If you personally know a public-school teacher who went to a private school, ask them if they could afford to, would send their children to either a private or public school? And would teaching religious values reduce the risk factor of their children winding up incarcerated, and lead to more love, peace, and joy in their life?
