… Schiff declared. “You know it’s not going to stop. … It’s not going to stop unless the Congress does something about it.
The Chicago Tribune headline read, Dems make closing arguments to Senators, reported Adam Schiff’s closing argument statement as a reason to impeach President Trump.
The Purpose of This Post
Is to attempt to explain to the Democrats that because “He is what he is,” is because that is precisely the reason why he was elected instead of another empty suit politician.
And to give express my opinion a wise solution of what Congress should do about it.
King Solomon
Like clouds and wind without rain is one who boasts of gifts never given. (Proverb 25:14)
What’s My Point?
It has to be apparent by now that the Democrats hate the fact that they lost the 2016 election because voters were fed up with empty suit politicians who made promises when they campaigned which never materialized.
Same as the proverb compared empty suits people to a promising cloud and wind that never produced any rain as it passed over.
For example, millions of manufacturing workers complained about livable wage jobs being outsourced.to China. Other voters complained about illegal immigrants crossing the open borders for 33 years after President Raegan granted amnesty and a promise that employers of illegal immigrants would be fined for hiring them. Etc. etc. etc.
In My Opinion
Because he, President Trump, is what he is, the candidate who won the 2016 election, the best thing for Congress to do is to recognize the reasons why voters chose him.
If they do not agree with his programs, Congress should debate in Congress because that is what Congress is supposed to do.
If they want to win the next election, present their solutions when they campaign for the 2020 election.
If my opinion upsets Trump haters, perhaps their grief can be consoled with the knowledge that Congress has set a two-term limit for the President. Frankly, in my opinion, Congress should pass a law to apply to all politicians, not only the President, to help console the grief voters have to bear listening to politicians spending their terms in office being concerned more about winning elections so they can remain in office instead of compromising on issues in our Nation.

You Decide
Should the Democrats focus on the issues that concern voters to win the 2020 election and present their candidates and solutions?
Isn’t that supposedly what Congress “is what it is? and is supposed to be doing during their terms of office instead of constantly complaining and attempting to impeach President Trump?

“It has to be apparent by now that the Democrats hate the fact that they lost the 2016 election because voters were fed up with empty suit politicians who made promises when they campaigned which never materialized.”
Firstly, on the most basic level of all the divisive discourse in this country, this one reason has been the continuing mantra for Trumpian Conservatives to “explain away” Liberals lamenting Trump. To begin with…. there are a huge number of traditional Republicans.. Reagan Republicans.. whatever you want to call them.. like myself… Republicans of the kind of the same or similar ilk to George Conway.. Kellyanne’s spouse… who find Trump personally appalling and politically arbitrary and impulsive, and in general a clear and present danger to the country. There are any number of Independents who feel the same. So the national “Trump-hater” is far from only being limited to Liberals and/or Democrats… far from any sort of political single demographic any Conservative may want to assign to Democrats to create cute labels and cartoons. The Trump-hater represents a broad demographic of cross-cultural, cross political, cross-economic, and cross educational Americans.
Second, Trump’s 2016 win was true and according to the Constitution (we’ll forget Russian shenanigans for now). But is was simply a statistical electoral win for Trump. He got 46% of the popular vote and Hillary got 48%.. which says that Trump’s win was not some overwhelming popular mandate at all. This means that if we simply assign by the numbers… there were 62 million potential “Trump-lovers” and 65 million potential “Trump-haters”. In other words, there are more Trump-haters nationally than Trump-lovers. Now.. could Trump affect the electoral college in the same way in 2020? Maybe… maybe not. But he’s likely not going to win any popular vote. The divide is not going away… and neither is his desire to remedy that himself.
Third, this idea that Trump is “good” because of all his campaign promises he is making a reality is a bit of a stretch. Obama.. at this same point in his administration, had completed more campaign promises than Trump has. What you and your Trumpian friends are really saying is that Trump is making HIS promises a reality. So.. to presume Trump is somehow any better at keeping his campaign promises than other politicians is incorrect. The reality is that he has kept SOME of the promises YOU and Trump-lovers want him to keep.
Fourth, the Dem candidates have gone to great lengths to focus their campaign efforts to specific issues and NOT singularly Trump impeachment or Trump-hating in general. If the Dem candidates are mentioning that “Trump must leave office”.. that’s far less about Trump-hating and more about acknowledging that’s the entire goal of any election.. getting the current guy out of there.
I might suggest you quit letting FOX & Friends influence your politics, Rudy.

Doug,
Thanks for your comments. I am always interested in hearing different opinions about President Trump,
Frankly though, I really cannot comprehend the animosity many people have against Trump.
To date he has not really done all the doomsday predictions Trump haters seemed to be concerned about. What motivates Trump haters to continually seek reasons to impeach or hate him is still a mystery to me.
As for your four opinions, perhaps you may be interested in my opinions.
First, I concur there is a lot of divisiveness. I am not sure if it all can be attributed to Trump’s tweet replies to answer all of his prognosticators on TV or the news media who keep criticizing him for every different reason not to their personal liking.
Second, I believe you are aware of the reasons for the Electoral College wisdom of our Nation’s founders, yet you keep bringing it up? Why, I am not certain either.
Third- Not certain how you discerned the word “good” in relation to Trump as being the reason for voters supporting him. Instead you should use the word “effective” based on his accomplishments of his campaign promises.
Fourth – The reason the Dem candidates focus on issues instead of impeachment is they are hoping for support from the independents who helped elect Trump. If they state their reason for running for office is only to impeach Trump, it would be similar to Hillary calling voters who she needed support “deplorables.”
I have yet heard how any of the promises they are making to voters is going to be funded..
As for me watching Fox news, you are mistaken, I prefer OAN news instead and really cannot understand why people who live in California such as yourself are not glued to that news station based in California.

One of these days you may wish to make a list of all the awful things Trump’s opponents said he would do and compare that with what he did do.
Has Trump done some things he should not have done? Yes, but they don’t amount to much. A few are cringeworthy, but Bill Clinton did worse. His tweets are sometimes annoying be Twitter is his way around the news media.
Meanwhile, the economy is doing well, and our foreign policy seems to be working well. Trump is making progress against illegal immigration, and so forth. Lots of positives, especially when compared with Obama.

Tom,
Your point making a list about the positives and the negatives reminded me of the song verses in the 1930 song titled,
“You gotta accentuate the positives, eliminate the negatives, and don’t mess with Mr. In between”
.Great wisdom advice for Trump haters to consider in my opinion.

Doug,
To help you make your list of positives and negatives as Citizen Tom suggested, here is a link with a list of positives of Trump for you to start.
However, frankly though, I prefer he would have used the words in his title American Fools instead because of the reason I explained in a previous post.
If interested, here is the link to the list of positives for you to use as starters.

Looking forward to your list. Might make a good post topic for you or one of your cohorts, if the author is fair and objective.
