Stand or kneel? Avoid or Confront? Change to add Colors of Flag from Red White Blue, to Red White Blue Black Brown Yellow, hot pink, green turquois, indigo violet?
The Chicago Tribune article titled: Oh, Say Can’t You See it is time to stop playing the National Anthem before sporting event, reported a columnist opinion about the controversy to kneel instead of placing hands on our hearts at sports ceremonies?
The Purpose of This Post
Is to relate an ancient wisdom proverb and opinion to the controversy. Should we stand, kneel, end the symbols of history of the USA flag to avoid confrontation, a psychology teaching of police training?
I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.
What is crooked cannot be straightened, and what is lacking cannot be counted (Ecclesiastes 1:14-15)
But whoever is among the living has hope; a live dog is better than a dead lion. (Ecclesiastes 9:4)
Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern. (Ecclesiastes 12:6)
What’s My Point?
To question the root cause of ‘What is lacking’ that ‘cannot be counted’ is the purpose of this post.
Will ending the Flag and National Anthem as a symbol of discontent of bigotry solve the problems of racism and justice or add to the count of what is lacking, the secure and tranquil enjoyment of the rights of person and property.?
Will adding more colors to the flag to symbolize the various difference in skin color or sex orientations really change the root cause of the problems, or will it be more like a flag waving about in different directions as it chases the wind in different directions?
Is ending the flag ceremony to avoid confrontation what is lacking in the USA?
Did removing singing of God Bless America add to the count to help end the what is lacking count?
In My Opinion
When we end our relationship with God and now are suggesting end the flag ceremony to avoid confrontation, it is in my opinion, one more signal that that the silver cord (flag) in the golden bowl (the USA) is to remove the final hope of the broken wheel (justice) in our Nation.
When we end the flag ceremony as a way to prevent confrontation of problems we have in our Nation, similar to what every generation has had for the last 3000 years as observed by King Solomon’s above verses.
If we end the flag ceremony, in my opinion, we are giving up hope same as when a dog, a lowly animal I compared to the esteemed lion in ancient times will both suffer the same fate as when they die.
Perhaps we need to be reminded of the following founders of our Nation’s beliefs.
Excerpt George Washington statement d in his farewell address.
Liberty itself will find in such a government, with powers properly distributed and adjusted, its surest guardian. It is, indeed, little else than a name, where the government is too feeble to withstand the enterprises of faction, to confine each member of the society within the limits prescribed by the laws, and to maintain all in the secure and tranquil enjoyment of the rights of person and property.
Excerpt CNN Was America Founds as a Christian Nation
Same as Thomas Jefferson and James Madison were strong advocates for the complete separation of church and state. John Adams and George Washington believed that religion was essential to the cultivation of a virtuous citizenry, an essential trait of any successful republic.
It is true that the founders, by virtue of the fact that they signed the Declaration of Independence, probably believed in a God who presided over nature, was the author of human rights, would one day judge the dead and governed the world by his providence.

Will ending the flag ceremony at sports events to avoid confrontation wise or foolish.
Will ending the flag ceremony do anything to help straighten what is crooked or add to the count of what is lacking?
Or will ending the flag ceremony be the final count to end and die our founders hopes and dreams for our Nation?
Was King Solomon observation that nothing is new under the sun because God made it crooked never to be straightened to end all hope in life?
Or was King Solomon verse written to promote understanding of wisdom to avoid chasing the wind by obeying God’s his Commandments?
Will teaching wisdom and love in the Bible to our children add to the count or just be chasing the wind to attempt to straighten what is lacking (A Godless Generation in my opinion)) in the USA?
