Is restricting access to the city by lifting Bridges and closing streets at night in Chicago necessary because the poor wise men who delivered the city in the past are not being remembered, again?
The Chicago Tribune article titled: Downtown Chicago access restricted from 9AM to 6AM, as a measure to save the city from looting. A columnist article titled: Healing Chicago will take authentic listening by all of us, gives his menu of reasons why crime is on the rise and proposes “listening by all of us.”
The Purpose of This Post
Is to relate an ancient wisdom verse and occurrence to explain my opinion why what is happening in Chicago keeps being repeated every new generation since King Solomon observed the same occurrence 3000 years ago…
There was a small city with few men. A mighty king came against it, surrounded it, and built large siege ramps against it.
Now there was found in it a poor wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city. Yet no one remembered that same poor man.
And I said, “Wisdom is better than strength, but the wisdom of the poor man is despised, and his words are not heeded.” (Ecclesiastes 9:14-16)
What’s My Point?
The defense tactic of raising a castle drawbridge to defend a walled city from invasion has been recorded innumerable times in history.
And the reason why it keeps reoccurring is basically the same reasons and that is we keep forgetting the advice of poor wise men mentioned in the Bible, especially Jesus Christ.
For example, the King Solomon verse 3000 years ago does not name the wise man who was forgotten.
However, the Bible names numerous other poor wise men in the Bible who provided wisdom and love advice how we humans need to treat each other to avoid having to keep repeating the same need to keep defending ourselves from sad evil human actions.
In My Opinion
In a previus post titled, Dirty Secret Revealed, I explained the secret of how not to keep forgetting the poor wise men so as not having so great a need to repeat having to defend Chicago by raising the drawbridges again, and again, and again.

Should listening include the problem of not teaching the wisdom and love taught in the Bible the root reason we keep repeating the same follies in every new generation as observed by King Solomon 3000 years ago.
