What was the final outcome of what the wise man did to save the city?
In the Previous Post
I surmised a conversation the wise man may have had with the leader attacking a walled city
The Purpose of This Post
Is to relate the ancient Bible verses to the clues provided in the previous posts to surmise what outcome may have occurred in concurrence to the Bible Ecclesiastes verse which is the main subject of this series of posts.
King Solomon
There was a small city with few men. A mighty king came against it, surrounded it, and built large siege ramps against it. 15Now a poor wise man was found in the city, and he saved the city by his wisdom. Yet no one remembered that poor man.(Ecclesiastes 9:14,15)
What’s My Point?
No one knows how the wise man saved the city or why it was attacked based on the above Ecclesiastes verse.
However, based on the clues provided in this series of posts, we can surmise two possible outcomes may have occurred.
- After returning with the message the wise advised the people in the city they must choose between the foundations and beliefs of God or the leader attacking their city.. They decided to defend the city and succeeded.
- The wise man somehow convinced the leader that they already had a foundation in the beliefs of their God that provide justice and peace, the leader’s reason for attacking the city. The leader then ended his attack and left the city alone.
In other words, I have provided a number of clues same as in riddles in the previous posts to compare our contemporary times choices we are nowconfronting in our USA society.
What Choices?
The USA Constitution was established to end rule of a King who did not abide by the same foundations of justice and peace as taught in the Bible .
The Bible is a foundation, in a similar manner as the Constitution. The difference being the Bible is God’s foundation and instructions that will never ever change for men to live by, rather than human foundations to provide justice and peace.
However, we humans over time keep repeating the same errors of past generations as the Ecclesiastes verse stated, “he saved the city by his wisdom. But nobody remembered that poor man” In other words we no longer remember the wisdom and love instructions in the Bible, and sadly, we choose to believe and follow human secular laws rather than the Bible laws.
For example, even wise King Solomon in his youth believed in God when he asked for wisdom which over time he forgot the teachings of his Father King David. However, in his later times he realized his follies and wrote Ecclesiastes.
How Many Laws Have Been Written in the USA?
A Wikipedia article state the Federal Congress has enacted over 30,000 statues of laws since 1789. Add the State laws of 50 States and the numbers are mindboggling.
In My Opinion
The USA keeps adding new human laws to attempt to control human behavior of its population. The Bible is in essence a message how to behave according to the laws of our Creator.
Basically, if everyone behaved in accordance the messages in the Bible that teach Wisdom and Love, there would be need for the mindboggling number of human secular laws.
However, King Solomon pointed out the main failings of humans pertains to human vanities that he observed and experienced in his own life.
Sadly in our contemporary times, instead of teaching our children to understand and obtain knowledge of the Bible messages of wisdom and love, we focus teaching every changing secular laws in mindboggling numbers and then wonder why it is the laws are disobeyed, misunderstood, or become impossible to enforce.
Present statistics indicate religion is waning in the USA which in my opinion is because parents can no longer afford private religious schools as I explain in previous posts
And in current news we read new beliefs based on Communism and Socialism we seem to have forgotten the sad experiences and failures recorded in history. And how these same beliefs resulted in the deaths of millions who resisted.

You Decide
When will be wise up and quit forgetting the messages of past wiseman how to avoid repeating the same follies of past generations?
Would School Choice or School Vouchers to allow parents to teach their religious values of God foundations that never changes instead of human secular foundations that change constantly because each new generation no longer remembers the wisemen of the past.
Would you agree that if everyone was taught to understand the laws of God in the Bible it would in time lead to better behavior and less violence and folly and perhaps result in the future to produce more wise men and women sorely needed to save the cities and the USA Nation?

The proverbs of Solomon, son of David, king of Israel: 2 To know wisdom and instruction, to understand words of insight, 3 to receive instruction in wise dealing, in righteousness, justice, and equity; 4 to give prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the youth – 5 Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance, 6 to understand a proverb and a saying, the words of the wise and their riddles.(Proverbs 1:1-6)
the more awareness there is to a Higher Judge, who will weigh our reasons for the actions we have taken, the greater the length of time we will give to our deliberations before re acting, thus giving more consideration to the issue being dealt with, it’s why God is called a just judge, he gives us the tools and proof of his existence, through the prophets, who become pillars of wisdom in helping us reach just conclusions. In times of great crisis, and with pressure from voters on the rise, it’s hard to resist making hasty decisions, perhaps those in the media ought to realize, that putting added pressure on their leaders, is not all that helpful, amen. On this day of remembrance of the 9/11 tragedy, when many hearts feel the wounds of that day, it’s also a time to think about the type of world they want their children to enjoy going forward, without having to worry about past events as an indication of their futures, amen.
