What wisdom or folly will our vote be based upon in the 2020 election?

A Chicago Tribune article titled, the mirror: We vote for candidates who reflect us, began with this statement. “

Who do you see in the mirror? From a political perspective it would appear voters are not happy with themselves.”

A Citizen Tom post titled: Those who love also hate, questions the intentions of signs appearing in yards that read, “Hate Has No Home Here”

The Purpose of This Post

Is to relate an ancient wisdom proverb about seeing your face in relation to your heart to perhaps help us decide who we should vote for based on either trust or hatred.

King Solomon

As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart. (Proverb 27:19)

What’s My Point?

The article states “…Americans vote for the candidate that most reflects their self.”

In elections some voters may choose a political candidate they trust based on skin color, religious background, ethnic name recognitions, etc. as a reason a voter chooses a candidate.

And if they work for the government entity or belong to a union, a company dependent on government contracts. For a candidate you are beholden to for your job security.

However, in this election there seems to be another element motivating many voters, hate.

The Citizen Tom post explores what we should hate in our society vs. what we should love or hate..

My point is when we look in the mirror and see what is in our hearts in relation to who we will choose in the coming election to represent our communities and Nation,

In My Opinion

When we look in the mirror in this coming election, we should indeed look into our hearts.

If what we see is what we hate is what the candidate is promising or has already become prevalent conditions in our local communities because of the politicians’ decisions while in office, why should we trust them with our vote.

And if a sign in someone’s yard contains the words hate and love, perhaps we should consider if the hatred is what we should hate or love having in our homes.

For example, will you trust a politician who promises in his campaign, or has approved while in office recreational drugs, immorality, lawlessness, abortion, poverty, unfair or unjust taxes, pride, envy, greed, sloth instead of work, and wrath?

You Decide

What do you see, or will you see, based on a politician’s decisions and accomplishments while in office in your communities and Nation?

And is what you see something you want to see something within yourself you trust, love or hate in your heart when you cast your vote?

And if you have school children and cannot afford to send them to be taught your religious values, is the candidate you vote for support school choice or school vouchers?
