How does a General MacArthur saying, my apple tree, and the Bible apply to our Nation’s Death Fade?

The Purpose of This Post

Is to relate ancient verses to our contemporary times to explain the meaning of the word death in the Bible, and General MacArthur’s speech.

King Solomon

No one remembers the former generations, and even those yet to come will not be remembered by those who follow them (Ecclesiastes 1:11)

Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit: (Proverb 1:12)

Excerpt

those that go down into the pit; who though whole and in perfect health, shall in a moment be destroyed and cast into the pit, being first plundered of all the riches they have about them; for this swallowing them up alive and whole, which is an allusion to a beast of prey swallowing up another creature all at once, not only intends their cruelty in taking away life, but their rapaciousness in seizing upon their substance

General McArthur

“Old soldiers (and Nations) never die, the just fade away.”

What’s My Point?

The Bible meaning of the word death is a reference to when a person’s soul fades away in life and spiritually dies.

My 50-year-old apple tree is slowly waning and fading away. It no longer bears fruit because the type of tree normally only lives about 40 years.

However, I keep on trying to revive it by slowly by cutting down the dead branches and hoping the new growth will bloom again. But at the same time know it will die and have to come down in time.

While limited age will be the cause of my apple tree, same as all human’ lives, Nations also have slowly faded away, died and were forgotten as evidenced in history before humans learned how to write and record history.

My point is to relate what in my opinion began our Nation fading away and perhaps be recorded as another death of a Nation in history over time.

In My Opinion

In a previous post that referred to our Nation titled: Who Killed God, Family, and Community, the post explained two subjects, The Community which is our Nation and the Tree of Life which is the individuals and families in the Community of our Nation.

In my opinion if you read the previous post, and compare to our Nation choice made to believe that abortion is a right for humans to decide to end a branch on their Trees of Life. The result is the same first sign as when any tree, human, or Nation begins to fade away and die, is when it no longer bears fruit.

Trees and humans may no longer bear fruit because of age or to make a choice to not allow any new branches to grow.

Same as when we make a choice to abort babies because we believe humans have the same knowledge and wisdom as their Maker.

The result is that over time both humans and their communities within their Nation will “fade away” for the same reasons explained in the previous post titled: Who Killed God, Family, and Community and Tree of Life?

You Decide

We know that we humans age when we no longer bear fruit same as my apple tree.

Did our Nation begin to fade away when we made the same choice to believe we have the same knowledge and wisdom as our Maker?

Will our souls be judged in the same way as the above Excerpt and the following Bible verse?

“Therefore, I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit. (Matthew 21:43)
