How do dreams and wisdom relate which occurred in History? For example, when Lincoln’s hysterical wife suddenly calmed down the night he died, and made a statement. What did she say?
I am listening to a presentation titled? Wisdom of History, which the speaker described how Abrahams Lincoln’s hysterical wife suddenly calmed down and revealed her thoughts. The presentation also described how Abraham Lincoln had a dream of his death and revealed it to both his Cabinet and his wife on the Good Friday night in history he was assassinated.
The Purpose of This Post
Is to relate and ancient Ecclesiastes verse written 3000 years ago to dreams which occurred along with current contemporary psychological views of dreams of death which occurred to other leaders in History.
It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the house of feasting: for that is the end of all men; and the living will lay it to his heart. (Ecclesiastes7:2)
What’s My Point?
There are records of other leaders in n history who they or others had dreams which foretold their deaths. For example, Jesus Christ, Pontius Pilate’s Wife, Julius Caesar’s Wife, Martin Luther King Jr., President Kennedy etc. etc.in the list of Source Links in this post.
This is what Abraham Lincoln’s wife revealed, a similar statement found in the Bible.
“Mr. Lincoln told me his dream. He knew he must die to atone for sins……”
My point is that King Solomon above verse is a lesson much more valuable to be taught to people in their youth rather in old age. The reason being when the time comes in everyone’s life to be informed, whether in a dream or a doctor that their time is near. A person may become anxious or hysterical, or perhaps in time calm down and become peaceful.
In My Opinion
If only we would teach the Wisdom and Love in the Bible, and the Wisdom of History of the World to the young that includes God, perhaps there might be a lot less anxiety about sins when death is near, and a lot less folly in our world.
