I read two blog posts today, which in my opinion can be related to the idiom meaning of “turning the tide,” which relate to ancient. present and future times in human history.
The Purpose of This Post
Is to relate the ancient wisdom and folly discernment to our contemporary times of the two subjects of the blog posts I read today.
Vanity of vanities, said the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity. (Ecclesiastes 1:2)

“The wrath of God is like great waters that are dammed for the present; they increase more and more, and rise higher and higher, till an outlet is given; and the longer the stream is stopped, the more rapid and mighty is its course, when once it is let loose.”
“This idiom transfers the ebb and flow of the ocean’s tides to human affairs. Although the idea is much older,”.
What’s My Point?
The opposite of vanity is humility.
If we discern the Wisdom of History, we will discern the wisdom and folly of mankind can be compared to the forces in nature that flow in and ebb out repeating actions which were either wise of foolish.
Is it any coincidence that plagues and pandemics seem to have appeared in history that changed the course or direction of human kind? For example, the ten plagues of Egypt recorded in the Bible, or the numerous plagues that occurred during times in war served to changed human choices that changed the tides in the course of history. Or perhaps, even the present pandemic which has forced the entire world to recognize how helpless are human defenses in comparison to the Maker of tides and the universe?
In My Opinion
We humans cannot turn the tide of our oceans. However, we can make wise use of ocean tides powers. Same as if we would only discern the wisdom of history which records how the world can become a better place by teaching and practicing wisdom and love.
The two opposites of wisdom and love that must be discerned and taught to help defend against the tide, and in my opinion, they are mainly centered on the existing tides of vanity and sins against our Maker.
King Solomon recognized that all sins and folly originate from human vanity by humans to believe they are as wise as their Maker and have the power to do what they find most appealing in life or pleasurable even when they have scientific proof that it is folly and will shorten their lifespans.
In my opinion humility to discern in the present to understand how to live according to the teachings in the Bible of Wisdom and Love.
And in the future to return to teaching our children more in-depth learning in early childhood by allowing parents to choose school choice of their religious values instead of government mandated laws that prevent parents by economics and taxation to no longer be able to afford to send their children to private religious schools
Read the two Blog Posts in depth to discern if returning humanly and school choice will help turn the tide of folly, we humans continue to repeat generation after generation.
Will discernment of humility and school choice help us ebb the tide of repeating the same folly in our present cotemporary times as past generations?
Will many people take the time to read and discern these two subjects that could help ebb the tide of folly before they vote?
Why is it that the only political party that supports school choice in the 2020 election are the Republicans?
Regards and goodwill blogging.
