Should Illinois and a number of other States start planning for their next Amendment Issue to emulate Oregon State?
The Hill article titled: Oregon voters to decide on decriminalizing heroin, cocaine, is in my opinion the next “Truth and Mercy Amendment” issue that should be considered in Illinois and every other State that has legalized recreational marijuana.
The Purpose of This Post
Is to relate a wisdom ancient proverb to this issue because of the prior Amendment approval of recreational marijuana.
Mercy and truth preserve the king: and his throne is upholden by mercy. (Proverb 20:28)
What’s My Point?
My point is since voters disregarded proven medical statistics that a significant number of users of recreational marijuana would bridge into using hard drugs such as opium, heroin, LSD, etc. etc.
In My Opinion
Any family who has experienced the nightmare of a family member become a drug addict understands and is knowledgeable of how sad their lives become once a loved one especially in their youth make a foolish mistake to begin taking drugs for recreational purposes and winds up a drug addict.t
In my opinion, the truth of this issue is whether or not we voted for the legislators who drafted the legislation to approve recreational marijuana now need to confront the truth and show mercy to drug addicts.

If you approved the Illinois Amendment in 2019 and now are experiencing a family member who crossed the bridge to hard drugs, would you agree for the need for truth and mercy for yourself and your family member? And if so, will you approve the next Illinois Amendment to emulate Oregon four years from now, a State that approved the use of legalized recreational marijuana in 2015,
