Can wisdom help make us happy?
I read a blog post today tiled: Serendipity for Saturday, which contained this following opening question and statement:
“Are you a happy person? Do you have pleasure, enjoyment, or contentment with your life today? The Hebrew noun ‘usher also means “blessed.” So, when you are happy, you are also blessed.
In a previous post titled: Lousy 2020 Thanksgiving, I brought up a story about the story of ‘‘Solomon’s Seal’ and the phrase “This too shall pass.”
The Purpose of This Post
Is to relate an ancient proverb to our contemporary pandemic times to understand if we can be happy if our doctor informs us, we have COVID-19 when we have reached an age that exceeds the average age in life.in spite of serious health conditions.
Or in other words, been advised of the possibility of being blessed in life with wisdom to be happy with the prospect of two scenarios, either we are about to die. or, this too shall pass.
King Solomon
Proverbs 3:13 – “Those who find wisdom are fortunate; they will be happy when they gain understanding.”
What’s My Point?
There is a school of thought that a wealthy person hates dying more than a poor person.
However, a person with understanding of wisdom understands the differences of the types of wealth a person accumulates in life,
My point is to pass on the wisdom of the past for interested readers to discern this Saturday morning.
In My Opinion
In my opinion, whatever wealth you accumulated in life whether it was an abundance of earthly treasure that served to make you happy, or an abundance of love of family of friends, or perhaps both, we all have been fortunate to have been born.
And, “Those who find wisdom are fortunate; they will be happy when they gain understanding.”

When I think of wealth and poor I think of Lazarus and the rich man…but I could be way off about the relation to the post.
To me wealth would mean faith, friends, and happiness derived from that. Nothing wrong with possessions but I try my best not to get too worldly…I don’t always succeed.

King Solomon wrote a proverb not to feel guilty about making money to obtain comfort in this life, He also wrote other proverbs for the wealthy to share their blessings with the poor in need not of their making.
Which can be interpreted that for some people laziness is the source of their poverty.
Or in other words, sometimes it is easier to accumulate wealth than it is to share wealth.
Lazarus story is about belief which can be an even bigger hurdle to overcome in life than the issues of wealth and poor.
Once belief is acquired, It makes all the other issues in life less of an obstacles to address making use of wisdom and love teachings in the Bible, in my opinion.
