What is the core reason why millions of voters are groaning about straws?
The Chicago Tribune Opinion Columnist article titled: Can the Republic survive Trump’s attack on the election, contained this statement:
“Even so, his wrathful attempt to overturn the result of a free, fair election qualifies as shocking. We knew he wouldn’t accept defeat gracefully. We knew he would claim he was cheated. But we couldn’t have imagined that he would use his position so relentlessly to try to disenfranchise millions of voters.
The Purpose of This Post
Is to relate an ancient proverb and a description for interested readers to solve the conundrum based on what the writer’s headline should have questioned.
“Can the Republic survive the groans of its citizenry being bombarded with “strawman” answers?”
King Solomon
When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule, the people groan. (Proverbs 29:2 ESV)
Strawman Definition Excerpt Wikipedia
“ (sometimes written as strawman) is a form of argument and an informal fallacy of having the impression of refuting an argument, whereas the proper idea of argument under discussion was not addressed or properly refuted.[1] One who engages in this fallacy is said to be “attacking a straw man”.
What’s My Point?
In a previous post titled: Integrity of Wisconsin Ballots? I provided a source article that stated:
“Wisconsin does not have signature matching laws, so it doesn’t matter how a voter signs their name, as long as it’s on their return envelope. “
In a Citizen Tom post titled: In Search of an Honest Court, Tom commented,
“You say I don’t care about the homeless, the poor, the minorities and the endless suffering mobs Liberal Democrats claim to support and actually abuse? That’s a straw man.
My point is when people groan, they are repeating the same sounds that billions of people have made for over 3000 years when they believe they are being oppressed by wicked rule, and not being listened to by those in power.
In My Opinion
People would much rather rejoice rather than groan, in my opinion.
However, President Trump will probably never concede this election because he listened to the advice of Hillary Clinton.
For the next four years, President Trump will voice his arguments, same as Hillary Clinton did, that she should have won the election but for different reasons.
I have written numerous posts about the fact that the first time use of millions of mailed in ballast were impossible to verify in Georgia, and was flabbergasted when I read that Wisconsin has no laws to verify ballots, they counted in the 2020 election…
If the Chicago Tribune columnist is really concerned that Trump is going to be responsible for another four years of political divisions or even another Civil War, perhaps he should aim his concerns at Hillary Clinton and the Courts who Trump has dutifully listened to her advice and will be sounding out his opinions for the next four years.
That will make Joe Biden’s promise to unify our Nation one more “empty suit: political promise” “to be recorded in USA history.
All could be avoided if only government would listen to the sounds of the groans of its citizenry who because of the reasons King Solomon observed 3000 years ago and his prediction that generations of fools that follow after him will repeated the same follies under the sun.

You Decide
Are the answers we are hearing in response to our groan’s mumbo jumbo strawman argument?
Will we mere mortals ever wise up and quit repeating the same follies as previous generations in recorded history”
Why is the 2020 Election have to be a conundrum instead of simple common-sense solution to a first-time mass use of ballots made in haste without constitutional authority’s or methods to verify ballots for accuracy, same as what happens in banana Republics?
Which political entity should be described as conducting their behaviors using the columnist words, “gracefully” and, “recklessly, or will be the real cause of “disenfranchisement,.” that will result in our Republic for the next four years?”

No, no, no, no, Rudy.. Trump absolutely does NOT listen to anyone.. especially listening to someone of the likes of Hillary.. and deciding she was correct and he adopted to her opinion. No.. never. The man is totally arbitrary and spontaneous. This goofy comparison to “he listened to Hillary” nonsense is just a defense of Trump ‘s whacky actions by the usual comparing him to someone in the past that was Liberal. Sorry.. Trump listens to no one but his own internal demons… and that is his downfall.

Doug,
I don’t think so?
Remember the old idiom, “What goes aground comes around.”
Same as Solomon’s proverb when a fool speaks it results in ruin.

Hehe.. I do like you affinity for Solomon’s wisdom as it relates to your posts. But.. Trump is/has been President. Hillary never was… Biden never was… and a president has a standing far above that of “common man” in the honor and prestige.. and megaphone… we assign to the office. It doesn’t matter one bit what “the last guy” did. That’s schoolyard neener-neener stuff. The only thing that matters is what a president does (or doesn’t) under his watch.

Doug,
Your right about Trump, he actually was successful in enacting a large number of campaign promises, unlike what a bunch of empty suit politicians ever accomplished as a result of being in an elected office for decades or 47 years like Biden.

You expect Republicans to go to Liberal Democrat “factchecked” to find out if Trump kept his promises? Why? We know what he promised, and we know what he did. We also know Liberal Democrat cannot be trusted to tell the truth about Trump, probably because he did keep, his promises.
Trump is doing what H. Clinton said Joe Biden should do, but you say Trump does not listen to anyone else. If that is your idea of factchecking, factchecking doesn’t seem to be of much use.

Pretty much what I thought you’d say… diss the source. You’re right.. I’d go with whatever FOX says… Hannity, Tucker.. Hinckley & Schmidt.. they have the pulse of the nation.

Not sure why Trumpians seem to use “Russia” as some cry of justification of innocence. Mueller was explicit to the contrary… especially with Trump’s obstruction.. which is a crime… but the Senate didn’t “exonerate” him at all. They just voted not to impeach… which was mostly about the Ukraine nonsense, in the House’s shortsightedness sadly.

Tom,
Which type of meaning are your stating with your comment, “no evidence?”
The type of “no evidence” the Courts keep ruling about Trumps allegations of election fraud even though the States admit it is impossible to conform to strict elections laws?
Of the type of evidence in Chicago shootings and dead bodies lying around the streets when no witnesses of the shootings ever come forward because if they do, they will be killed by the gangs that are shooting people?
Or no evidence about Biden knowing anything about the details of his son’s involvements in Ukraine and China even though he flew to China on Air Force One with his son?
Or no evidence there is a God even though there is no evidence why the workings of the Universe work in perfection of physic laws?.
Or no evidence because there is no detail as I explained in my post today, Georgia’s Dog Devil Details?
Sad.

Brevity is not always the soul of wit. Mueller had no evidence. Trump has enough to justify a serious investigation. That is something his team doesn’t have the resources or the authority to conduct. That’s why the demand for evidence is really quite absurd, especially after Mueller and company spent 10’s of millions.

..and he indicted what.. 11 people? I unders stand from fines and seized funds he made the money back. Also.. Mueller presented evidence that the Prez was obstructing.. which is a crime.. and subject to impeachment on it’s own.
Why is it always necessary for Trumpians, in their defense of the indefensible Dear Leader, to compare what he does with what others have done, as if that somehow exonerates him? As Prez he is on his own.. not riding on the actions of past people.

One of the reasons Republicans are so angry is that the “crimes” Trump’s associates were charged with were process crimes that had nothing to do with either Trump or Russian collusion. The people responsible for this abuse are skating free because of people like you.

It defies human logic, that anyone would. prefer the uncertainty and be declared the winner. I am still at peace though, confident that the Truth has a way of revealing itself, rendering fools exposed, but they seem not to care as long as they perceive themselves victorious.
