Governor Pritzker’s Illinois ‘Democrats budget cuts beg a question who to blame?
The Chicago Tribune article titled: Gov. Pritzker lays out $700 million in cuts, reported the reason is because:
“blasts GOP for failing to offer alternatives after working to scuttle graduated income tax”
An earlier Chicago Tribune article titled:
“Illinois does not have to spend one billion dollars a year on school administration costs reported,
“Not only does Illinois spend more ($544 per student) than double the national average of $266 per student, but Illinois spends more annually on administration costs than any other state. It also has the highest number, 6018, of State local governing bodies, in the Nation.
For example, California, the largest State has 4444. Governing bodies means administrators all doing the same thing that in our present contemporary time of a tech savvy computers could be administered and managed in one laptop computer.
The Purpose of This Post
Is to relate an ancient proverb and idioms to the issue of a some reasons why a Blue State run by Democrat administrators and politicians is in deep doo doo on the budget and State Debt.
King Solomon
A person’s own folly leads to their ruin, yet their heart rages against the LORD. (Proverb 19:3)
Excerpts Gils Commentaries
nor his schemes succeed; but everything goes against him, and he is brought into straits and difficulties;
instead of charging his own ways with folly, charges the ways of God with inequality;
Idiom
What do you call someone who always puts blame on others?
Often, such a person is called a “manager” or a “politician”. – Dan Jul 19 ’14 at 4:12
What’s My Point?
The State of Illinois history of management and political history is as follows:
“Illinois became a state in December 1818. Largely Republican from the Civil War through the 1920s, the state voted Democratic throughout the Great Depression and World War II, then returned to the Republicans for eight out of 10 elections from 1952 through 1988. Illinois has voted Democratic in the last seven elections.” (google)
In 1980, Illinois had $4.5 billion in unfunded pension debt and a perfect credit rating. Today, Illinois has nearly $140 billion in unfunded pension debt and its credit rating is just one notch above junk status.
Seven elections equal 28 years or somehow the debt began accumulating around 1992 which logically points to Democrat control being the main time period the major debt accumulated
My Point is Governor Pritzker statement may not be logical according to the above time frame.
In My Opinion
Illinois is in deep deep doo doo on finances mainly because of three factors. The State has too many administrators, politicians and governing bodies in the USA.
Anyone familiar with politics in Illinois knows that when a politician is elected in Illinois, they obtain powers over job patronage workers who work under them at election time will get out the vote in their communities, families, friends to make it almost impossible for a candidate to challenge and win an election unless the incumbent does something really foolish and the media gets on his or her case.
Add that every effort to enact referendums for term limits will never pass in the Illinois legislator for various reasons. One being expounded most by politicians is, “: We already have term limits. They’re called elections.”
However, for some reason, politicians did vote for term limits for the President of the USA, but not for themselves for some logic which I frankly do not comprehend based on the idiom:
“What’s good for the goose is good for the gander.”

You Decide
Who should be blamed for Illinois budget problems, the Illinois administrators, politicians, or the perhaps the voters in accordance to the politician’s logic, “We already have term limits? They’re called elections.“
After all it is the voters who keep voting for the same politicians year after year, after year, and then complain about high taxes, year after year, after year in Illinois.
Or would it have been more logical for should Governor Pritzker’s heart just blamed God for Illinois financial doo doo because after all, when things don’t turn out the way the Democrats want, might as well blame God for creating Republicans to blame.
Which leads to the next question, If God created Republicans, who else in the Bible ‘alternative’ created Democrats?

Interesting that very few politicians are actually willing to be accountable.
Reminds me of this from James: “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like.”
