Another Chicago Tribune article titled: Dems aiming to pressure Biden to investigate Trump, reported this comment.
“Martyring Donald Trump is a very bad idea and it could tear this country apart.”
Add this article to a previous article yesterday report the Pelosi wants to impeach Trump a second time brought to my mind the irony of a King Solomon verse written 3000 years ago before the invention of the Bible, printing press, computers, and google.
The Purpose of This Post
To relate an ancient wisdom verse to the news reports in our contemporary times on the subject of how people are remembered in history to be recognizes as a martyr for either a religious or political belief.
Definition of martyr – Merriam Webster
1: a person who voluntarily suffers death as the penalty of witnessing to and refusing to renounce a religion
2: a person who sacrifices something of great value and especially life itself for the sake of principles martyr to the cause of freedom
3: VICTIM especially: a great or constant sufferer martyr to asthma all his life— A. J. Cronin/
What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun. (Ecclesiastes 1:9)
For the wise, like the fool, will not be long remembered; the days have already come when both have been forgotten. Like the fool, the wise too must die! (Ecclesiastes 2:16)
What’s My Point?
Anyone interested in how people are remembered most in history will certainly recognize that one of the best ways is to add their name to a list of martyrs in history.
For example, a Wike list article I googled lists names and dated under a title of Political Martyrs.
My point is to wonder if the Dems planned actions to impeach Trump twice, prosecute, and perhaps jail him will add the name of Trump over time to be added to names on the Wick list.
In My Opinion
I frankly consider the irony when I think that someday the Democrat Party will be considered in the same context as the High Priests who martyred Jesus Christ for challenging their religious beliefs or actions.
Or if we consider the definition of a political martyr in the Wiki article.
“A political martyr is someone who suffers persecution or death for advocating, renouncing, refusing to renounce, or refusing to advocate a political belief or cause. Notable political martyrs include: …
And then relate how the Democrats and Mass Media ever since the 2016 constant attacks on Trump might be considered to be a form of “political persecution<” meaning you don’t have to necessarily be nailed to a cross or hung to become a martyr
Read the Source Links below.
Will the name of President Trump someday be added to the Wiki lists of Victims.?
Will the Democrat Party someday be associated with the High Priests who are considered to have been fools.?
Or will the parting sentence of the WWII hero, General Douglas MacArthur:” after being fired for his political disagreement with President Truman be considered.
“Old Solders never die; they just fade away.”
