Are terrorist’s imaginary bogeyman or reality?
A Chicago Tribune article titled: Biden’s approval dips on immigration, handling of border surge, poll shows, reported this following statement”
“Overall, 40% of Americans disapprove of Biden’s handling of children reaching the nation’s southern border without their parents, compared with just 24% who approve.”
A Fox News report article titled: Illegal immigrant on FBI’s Terrorism Watch List caught near US-Mexico border, officials reveal, contained this statement:
“A Yemeni citizen who is on the FBI’s Terrorism Watch List was caught last week entering the United States illegally through the southern border, the second such incident to occur within the past two months, officials said Monday.”
Another report states,” the CBP deletes press release outlining arrest of Yemeni border crossers on terror watch list.”
A PolitiFact 2017 reported this statement:
“While they might observe someone going back across the border or getting away from them, the total numbers of people who are actually deterred or escape without apprehension are ultimately unobservable,” he said.
The Purpose of This Post
Is to relate an ancient proverb, an idiom, and the bogeyman to these news reports.
For he the not that which shall be: for who can tell him when it shall be? (Ecclesiastes 8:7)
Idiom – Blind as a bat – Google
The phrase ‘As Blind as a Bat’ refers to someone who is unwilling to recognize bad things, or someone who is completely blind. You can use the idiom ‘As Blind as a Bat’ to describe someone who refuses to notice an obvious thing.
What’s My Point?
If two known terrorists from Yemen were caught, and border agents have no way of knowing how many illegal border crossers are not caught, should the USA consider the reports that known terrorists are imaginary bogey, or be concerned about the future security in the USA?
In My Opinion
It is wise to understand that no one can predict the future.
However, it is also wise to discern the reasons why we cannot predict the future is because our present border agents caught two known terrorists have no way of knowing how many more, they did not catch does affect the security of what can happen in the future.
Are the two known terrorists caught real or imaginary boogieman that parents tell stories to children “sometimes used as a non-specific personification or metonym for terror, and in some cases, the Devil.”
Are our present political leaders treating border security as if it is imaginary bogeyman threat to security of USA or foolish legislators who are: blind as bats?”
While it is wise to understand no one can know the future, is it foolish to ignore the present threat of know terrorists entering the USA and repeating another 9/11 attack?
