Interested in discerning King Solomon’s wisdom how he managed to obtain peace in the Mid-East during his reign compared to our contemporary times?
The Chicago Tribune article titled: Cease -fire holds through 1st full day, has been reported numerous repeated times in the last century, The Bible even records the same repeat conflict existed 3000 years ago.
The Purpose of This Post
Is to once again relate the ancient proverb of the wisdom used by King Solomon to obtain peace vs. the methods used by ancient conquerors such as King David, Alexander the Great, Muhammad, etc. in history, vs. the very costly wasteful methods being used in our contemporary times, and an idiom.
If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink. (Proverb 26:21)
Meaning of Idiom ‘Never Bite the Hand That Feeds You’
To bite the hand that feeds you is to attack, harm, show ingratitude toward, or otherwise turn against someone who is helping you.
What’s My Point?
The Bible records that previous to King Solomon, Israel believed in killing every man woman a child who warred against them such as the Amalekites. Alexander the Great and Muhammad, who gave a choice to inhabitants of cities they invaded to either surrender or they would do the same, kill every man, woman, and child.
King Solomon practiced the above proverb instead and traded to make use of shared prosperity to maintain peace.
The Bible New Testament of Christianity preaches love, charity and prayer for enemies. Problem is not everyone understands or believes in Christianity.
My Point is the Mid-East War has a history of war for over 5000 years.
If we compare the cost of the 4000 rockets Hamas fired against Israel of 300 – 800 dollars each for the low range and the cost of Patriot Missles used of 50,000 to 100,000 each to defend against the rockets, the cost for the rockets alone range for Hamas Rockets totals between $1,200,000 to $3,200,000 for Hamas/Iran and $200,000,000 to 400,000,000 for Israel/USA.
Compare those costs to the amount of food which could have been spent by the seemingly endless conflicts being paid by both the USA and Iran.
In My Opinion,
President Joe Biden was silent in this latest two-week conflict in the news supposedly brokered by Egypt. However, my guess he made agreement to promise more USA tax funding’s or threatened to remove same to end the conflict again.
In my opinion, what the world needs now in addition to love is wisdom to end the wastefulness and destruction of wars in the Mid-East
In other words, we all need to wise up and discern the folly recorded in history and listen to the wisdom taught in the New Testament of the Bible.
Will we ever wise up and start teaching and making use of the wisdom of the ancients instead of repeating the same follies of past generations over and over and over again in every new generation in recorded history.
