Should Bishops of the Catholic Church stand up for their beliefs against abortion or consider the politics of communion with God or mortal men?
The Chicago Tribune – AP – CBS – article titled: Catholic politicians could face rebuke for abortion stand, reported the following two statement?
“”They’re looking for direction,” Hying said.
“The more attention the bishops focus on the Communion question, the more the church will be perceived as being in the political fray, which risks driving some Catholics away,” Campbell said via email.
The Purpose of This Post
Is to relate an ancient wisdom proverb, a Bible verse, for interested readers to discern this issue.
King Solomon
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; (Proverb 3:5)
Matthew 10:33-35
33 But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father in heaven. 34Do not assume that I have come to bring peace to the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35For I have come to turn ‘a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.…
Catholic Definition – Communion
In Christian parlance the most sacred expression for any one of different forms of togetherness. As communion between God and the human soul in the divine indwelling; between Christ and the recipient of the Eucharist in Holy Communion; among all who belong to the Mystical Body in heaven, purgatory, and on earth in the Communion of Saints; and among those who belong to the Catholic Church as a communion of the faithful.
What’s My Point?
If we consider the core reasoning for abortions between single of married women, we will understand that only 18 percent of abortions are sought by married women compared to single woman.
The core teachings of the Catholic Church are to promote and strengthen family and communities Sadly, we mortals have come to believe that Rights.
My point is over time we mortals believe we have awakened by philosophers during the ‘Great Awakening’ to understand that human Rights, politics, and premarital sex supersede the core religious beliefs of marriage and family.
If we consider the Catholic definition of Communion, if we are not in communion with our beliefs, the sacrament is not meaningful that we are in communion with the Church past and present core beliefs of Saints or faithful leaders of the Church…
In My Opinion
Bishops’ roles are not the same as politicians. They are leaders of the Church and their roles are to provide directions of faith for the followers of their Church laws and precepts.
Yet knowing that all mortals are not perfect, but how can they ever strive for perfection of the souls if their leaders are more concerned with politics of man instead of trust in “God?
President Biden is a politician, not a faithful Bishop.
You Decide
Should Bishops provide direction for their followers to follow the path of wisdom and love in the Bible or worry like politicians that they will win or lose the next election.
Is it wise of foolish for Catholic Bishops to consider whether Communion is a sacrament of God or of politicians?

I’m sure the bishops wouldn’t mind establishing America as a Christian Theocracy as well. This ReTrumplican GOP certainly wouldn’t mind. Interesting the zest and zeal to save an unborn child… yet when that child gets older and into adulthood no one gives a damn when death comes due to guns…. just don’t touch the Second. The sanctity of being born is greater than the sanctity of life itself. That even make sense to you?

Thanks for your comment and question of making sense on the issue of abortion.
What makes sense to me is King Solomon’s Ecclesiastes observation:
“For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion.”
In ancient times a dog was considered the lowest form of an animal and a lion was esteemed.
The issue of abortion is basically about hope which is the same as what religion is all about.
When religious leaders give in to the hopelessness of being born for fear of being shot instead of life being a blessing, the hope for the future of both religion and our Nation is ended.
Over 60 million babies have been aborted in the USA since Roe and Wade, more than all the wars and heroes who fought and died for hope of freedom of living a life of freedom.
Considering a living fetus is on par with believing it is as low as a dog was considered in ancient times, is the same belief that we mortals will never be blessed with life and an opportunity to perhaps become a esteemed as was a lion, or a hero in the minds of our family, friends and peers during our short time of every mortal’s lifetime..
Abortion is basically a pagan act.
Sad.
If this explanation does not make sense to you, I understand. My guess is you and millions of others never attended in your youth a private religious school to understand religious beliefs in depth.

The catholic church has a clear stand on abortion. It is within their rights to enforce doctrines that are important to them. Jesus would advocate going to them privately first. If that doesn’t work, several should go. Failing that, they would be “kicked out” of the church.
Tough issue.

Michael,
Thanks for your comment.
Frankly the issue is not tough to my understanding.
Defending against abortion is the same as as defending religious faith and hope against a pagan belief and practice.
