Who should decide and choose if a student should wear or not wear a mask? If public schools are allowing parents to make the choice of masks, is that an admission that parents know what is best for their children than Government? Or is it an admission that something is missing in what is being taught to children in public schools that is being taught in private religious schools.
One Chicago Tribune thee articles titled: Biden dealt outbreak of resistance, and, Daily virus cases have doubled this month, and Surging number of suburban school districts will let parents decide if their students will be masked in the fall: ‘We’re giving kids their freedom back,’
Another article titled, 3 Texas Democrats who fled State tested positive for coronavirus, may also be an admission that the same something is missing in Government?
The Purpose of This Post
Is to relate an ancient wisdom proverb, word definitions, and two quotes which is the answer to the conundrum.
Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old, they will not turn from it. (Proverb 20:4)
Definition of Freedom – Merriam Webster
(a.) the absence of necessity, coercion, or constraint in choice or action
Definition of Communism – Merriam Webster
(a.) a system in which goods are owned in common and are available to all as needed
Definition of Nanny State – Cambridge Dictionary
What’s My Point?
The saying answers missing something children taught in our public schools who over time have become parents and legislators, many now in office, and parents’ actions are the reason for present folly of we are reading and hearing in the news every day.
In My Opinion
Why did private religious schools managed to remain open to attendance during the height of the Covid pandemic while public schools could not do the same as a clue to the conundrum??
Will quotes add clues about freedom and the conundrum of why so many public schools are allowing parents to decide whether or not to wear masks in school? Is doing so an admission that they are unable to teach children what is being taught in private religious schools? And is this same conundrum now evident in the Texas legislators’ actions to flee the State because they apparently do not understand the problem that arises with too much freedom without understanding the answer to the Conundrum.
What Sayings Answer the Conundrum?
Fair and reasonable discipline is like a fence that provides protection and defines limits, demonstrating both care and concern. ~ Les Christie
No one is free who does not lord over himself. ~ Claudius
In Other Words
If public schools are allowing parents to decide and choose about masks, should Government also allow parents to be able to afford to choose what school they want to teach their children discipline and religious values.
And the reason is because the present public schools run by government cannot teach discipline to children or when they grow up to be parents or leaders as evidenced by the Texas legislators who fled from their duties they swore to abide by when they entered office.
As for the question of wearing mask, if we read the article, the three legislators were vaccinatied which means perhaps we still need to wear masks ourselves if we do not want to risk Covid even after being vaccinated.
Can our Nanny State Governing be compared a parent or nanny failure of teaching or managing discipline and freedom?
Is school choice and school voucher a better risk for both parents and children to be taught discipline needed in our personal lives and in the community of our Nation?
If a person is wise, does he or she understand that personal discipline is needed to obtain “the absence of necessity, coercion, or constraint in choice or action”
Are we really giving freedom back to our children by allowing them to “lord over themselves.” ,,,,or ,,,,themselves, their community, and their Maker?
