Is it untenable for freedom or civil liberty to either be obtained or maintained in history by defending uncivilized human behaviors?
The Chicago Tribune article titled “City eyes going after gangs ‘blood money,’ reported the following ACLU statement of opinion:
The ACLU of Illinois was quick to criticize the mayor’s proposal, calling it a recycled version of failed state forfeiture law.
“The mayor’s time would be better spent on the real work of reducing violence, which includes investing in communities, reforming police practices and expanding access to social and mental health services,” said Colleen Connell, executive director of the organization.
The Purpose of This Post
Is to relate an ancient wisdom verse, a word definition of untenable, and a quote to the conundrum Mayor Lightfoot untenable position to attempt to end the daily uncivilized violence and shootings being reported daily in the city.
Definition of untenable
1: not able to be defended an untenable position
Instruct a wise man, and he will be wiser still; teach a righteous man, and he will increase his learning. (Proverb 1:8)
“A learned fool is more a fool than an ignorant fool.” ― Moliere
What’s My Point?
The American Civil Liberties Union, ACLU, is the latest (Brick Wall) challenge the mayor has to contend with in her quest to end the violence and shootings.
BLM resents police presence and wants to defund the police.
Police unions reject the police man should be personally sued for police lawsuits, while politicians cannot be personally sued or fired by committees instead of juries.
Frankly, in my opinion, the police today are limited by various lawsuits to be proactive and are only reactive after a shooting or crime occurs.
Which for some reason the Chicago Tribune reports almost daily but never reports the reasons for the shootings that occur?
Meanwhile, innocents are being shot in the crossfire of a gang war similar to the infamous Capone days before the FBI succeeded to convict him for tax evasion, a similar method to what Lightfoot is now proposing to target gangs in Chicago.
No witnesses will testify against a gang for fear of gang retaliation. And if a gang member is arrested, most are likely to be freed without bond to return to communities because current politicians in office believe jails do more harm than good.
My point is the mayor is in an untenable position no matter what she does or tries to do to reduce shootings and violence.
In My Opinion
It is a fact that the Revolutionary and Civil Wars were waged to obtain and maintain liberty and freedom were accomplished by uncivilized wars, shootings, violence instead of a civil aced manner.
In my opinion, if Lightfoot loses the next election, there is not going to result in “anything new under the sun” over time to significantly change Chicago violence if the mayor follows the ACLU opinion… “The mayor’s time would be better spent on the real work of reducing violence, which includes investing in communities, reforming police practices and expanding access to social and mental health services,”
In other words, perhaps the ACLU might consider Moliere’s saying in relation to their opinions and the untenable Lightfoot attempts to reduce shootings in Chicago. “A learned fool is more a fool than an ignorant fool.”
Was the following statement a simple fact Lightfoot is contending with the mayor’ Untenable Conundrum?
“No moral, no message, no prophetic tract, just a simple statement of fact: for civilization to survive, the human race has to remain civilized?
If a government survey was made of every convicted criminal to find out if they attended a private religious or a public secular school, might the findings reveal that the majority of root causes of why children grow up without morals. And that dispute the opinion to be a simple fact that religious morals and/or prophetic tracts it is more likely that civilization has less hope to to survive and remain civilized?
Should instead, the above statement be challenged by the ACLU to defend freedom and liberty. That if children are never introduced to religious morals, the probability and risks of gang shootings will have even less hope of ever being reduced?
And as long as parents cannot afford to choose to send their children to a private religious school same as Mayor Lightfoot and 40 percent of public-school teachers and most politicians who send their children to a private school instead of the Chicago Public schools?
