Interested in the missing 40 percent of workers?
My experiences lately when going out to eat in restaurants is that for the most part, there appears to be less workers serving or cooking. Same with home services workers.
I googled the above title question and read a number of opinions, one which states the following.
“The decline in labor-force participation for young people can almost entirely be explained by their staying in school longer.”
The Purpose of This Post
Is to relate and ancient proverb to this conundrum.
`The history of kings in the Old Testament reveals that most were, in fact, “takers.” Even Solomon, who started so well “did what was evil in the sight of the Lord and did not follow the Lord fully”(1 Kings 11:6). He did not listen to the Deuteronomic warning to future kings:
He shall not multiply horses for himself…neither shall he multiply wives for himself, lest his heart turn away; nor shall he greatly increase silver and gold for himself (Deut. 17:16-17).
Yet Solomon did all these things, even….
What’s My Point?
If we compare statistics over the years to study the growth in government workers, compare government salaries and benefits to other industries, should we be concerned that the current shortage of workers is in part of the growth trend of the Federal Government emulating King Solomons failure which led to his Kingdom to fail after his death.
In My Opinion,
The USA decision to become a service industry and outsource manufacturing capability’s while at the same time increasing services and taxes seems to be repeating the same path of folly that resulted in the ancient Kingdom of Israel to fail in the past.
The present government path to allow millions of refugees into the USA because they are more willing to work in low paying service jobs while at the same time raising taxes to support and provide benefits to sustain them while at the same time Americans continue to abort their children because if they have a child they will have to work to support them, while at the same time the USA is printing dollars because of debt, while at the same time the USA wants to add trillions to the debt to add services for drug addiction, higher crime rates, more police and e judges, guns being booth by fearful citizens while at the same time police hands are being tiled and jails are releasing criminals because of costs to local communities, super rich hiding money in overseas accounts, building mansions and elaborate swimming pool while some people live in tents on the city streets, and religion waning in both teachings and funds to maintain schools while public schools are building elaborate buildings, at the same time the National Debt keeps on growing in unacceptable trillions fueling inflation, etc. .
Should we be compered of the USA leaders are emulating King Solomon folly of expanding government and taxing led to his Nation to become divided after his death and his warning in later life when he wrote the following verse/
What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun. (Ecclesiastes 1:9)
Or in other words, sad, sadly sad,
Is the reason more workers are staying in school to learn more social studies to be of service to government of private industry?
Will the USA ever wise up and return to work again both physically, mentally, and spiritually as envisioned by the founders?
If you believe this post to be too pessimistic about the future, ask yourself if that tis the same reason King Solomon wrote his Ecclesiastes which has been described as depressing, yet accurate if we compare the foolish that have occurred in the world and failed Nations, wars, that have occurred because for some reason “what has been done will be done again, there is nothing new under the sun.”
