Did a pastor provide the hopeful clue to the way needed for disputing Chicago Leaders to reduce or ending shootings?
The Chicago Tribune article titled: Lightfoot, Foxx clash points to frustration with violence, reported a pageful of details but no answers to the relentless shooting in Chicago in spite of all the available resources being used.
However, in my opinion, one clue by a statement of a pastor who serves his ministry in the high crime community provided the wisest answer to this conundrum?
The Purpose of this Post
Is to relate an ancient wisdom verse, an idiom, to this conundrum.
King Solomon – Hope
For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off. (Proverb 23:18)
Excerpt Gills Bible Commentary
For surely there is an end, both of the prosperity of the wicked, which is but for a short time; and of the afflictions of the righteous, …
Anyone who is among the living has hope —even a live dog is better off than a dead lion! (Ecclesiastes 9:4)
Idiom – Where there is a will there is a way
Meaning – If one is motivated enough to do something, they will find a way to do it.
What’s My Point?
The Pastor in the article stated his opinion as follows:
“There’s no will for the political leaders to work together,” Acre said.
My point is political leaders in Chicago cannot seem to understand that the entire system of criminal law in the USA requires someone to be a witness of any crime when there is no video available to prove without doubt evidence of a crime without DNA or fingerprint evidence.
In My Opinion
The reason there are no witnesses to the shooting incidence in the article is because no one will come forward to testify against anyone. The reason being if they do, either the accused may be freed on a bond, or if they are in a gang, will intimidate the witnesses or family not to testify or be shot as one witness recently was for testifying about her friend shooter.
In other words, innocent people are becoming victims of stray bullets or targets of gang or other criminal shootings or robbery.
In a previous post I recommended the concept of prima facie evidence be used along with martial law to return fear, one of the most effective measures in history to control crime, to be applied to anyone carrying an illegal gun on the streets of Chicago.
There is no other way to use fear of the law into people who have no fear or love of God taught to them in childhood and have now grown up and choose to engage in having no concerns or fears about shooting to kill, or terrorize their community to profit or avengement. Love has been the proven in history to be the greatest motivation of humans to practice righteousness in their lives.
In my opinion, politicians and leaders need to wise up and understand the reality of that when an innocent person is shot and killed in the crossfires, they and the city have contributed to their fate of loss of hope only available to the living.
Do our leaders really understand reality of what is happening in the communities they were elected to represent and will they ever wise up to the pastor clue about when there is a will there is a way to reduce or end the shootings with a more effective means and better way to teach children that what is obviously not working about fear of the law or fear of God?
