Is there a long-range plan for the USA electricity generation?
The Chicago Tribune article titled: Governor signs incentives to boost EV electric vehicles in Illinois, reported
“Belvidere, where the signing took place, is the home of the Stellantis auto plant. The company just announced plans to lay off 400 workers due to lagging sales of Jeep Cherokees and shortages in semiconductors.”
The Purpose of This Post
Is to relate an ancient wisdom proverb to the USA electric generation long range planning by government in USA.
King Solomon
Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed. (Proverb 15:22)
What’s My Point?
Electric Vehicles need electric power. Generating electric power requires electric generators. Electric generation requires energy sources such as coal, gas, wind, solar, transmission equipment.
My point is to question where are the long-range plans and sources for electric generation needs in the future to power electric vehicles?
In My Opinion
Long range plans in Washington to generate electricity to replace fossil fuels seem to be at odds with States or lacking in my opinion.
For example, if we consider what has occurred in Washington to reduce oil and gas production in the USA to a chart in the Source Links below, we see the obvious result is price inflation.
If we consider how dependent the USA has become on globalism to produce raw materials to produce generation equipment and the present bottlenecks in transportation, it is obvious to me that government past and present leaders in the USA did not either have or listen to wise advisers that provided contingencies to prevent what has occurred what is now occurring and will likely occur in the future.
Plant shutdowns, inflation, bottlenecks, and in my opinion, will worsen in the future in the USA.
The same circumstance now occurring in Europe’s energy crises.

You Decide
Is it possible that USA government leaders past decisions lacked long range planning in the past, and will continue in the future unless we voters wise up and demand long range plans include wise advisers’ answers to this conundrum be included before our legislators approve and sign legislation?

Previous Posts – Energy
I may have already stated this, but it seems logical to me that, if possible, every structure should independently harvest solar energy, at least as an emergency power storage system. There already are fossil-fuel-powered generator systems that engage once the regular electric-grid flow gets cut off, so why not use clean solar energy instead of the very old school and carbon intensive means?
Furthermore, especially when considering most humans’ very vulnerable over-reliance on electricity, it may no longer be prudent to have every structure’s entire electricity supply relying on external power lines that are susceptible to being crippled by unforeseen events, in particular weather storms of unprecedented magnitude. (Also, coronal mass ejections’ powerful EMF effects leave electrical grids vulnerable to potentially extensive damage and long-lasting power outages. Albeit, someone recently told me that even battery-stored energy would be rendered inactive in a CME event.)
Here in the West, however, if the universal availability of green-energy alternatives (like solar power) would come at the expense of the traditional ‘energy’ production companies’ large profits, one can expect obstacles, including the political and regulatory sort. If something notably conflicts with corporate big-profit interests, even very progressive motions are greatly resisted, often enough successfully. And, of course, there will be those who will rebut the concept altogether, perhaps solely on the illogic that if it was possible, it would have been patented already and made a few people very wealthy.
