When does hope become hopeless in a Nation according to a clue?

The Chicago Tribune contains a letter titled: A love letter to our imperfect Nation: ended with the following statement.

“Hope. The hope that we can be better. That the future is bright with possibilities. That even I, as equally as flawed as you, might at last do something that is worthy of the potential that America promises. Even in these most troubled times.”

The Purpose of This Post

Is to relate an ancient wisdom proverb and a sad reminder of history of a King Solomon who was described during his generation to be the wisest man in the world, observed about the conundrum clue.

In other words, it may already be too late to have hope for a “bright future” based on the clue to the conundrum provided by the letter writer, and the comparisons provided in this post of what has already occurred in our Nation.

King Solomon

What has been will be again,
    what has been done will be done again;
there is nothing new under the sun. (Ecclesiastes 1:9)

What’s My Point?

If we discern an article titled: The Sad End of Solomon – A Moral Tale – Community in Mission, we mortals are doomed to repeat the same folies of previous generations. We are now on a path course in the 240-year history of our Nation’s to repeat the sane failure of every Democrat Republic in history.

The history of the USA began when the original founders were Pilgrims who believe in God and chose to enter the New World of America because of their moral beliefs.

When we compare King Solomon’s life when he began his reign, he prayed for wisdom to rule over his people. Only to later in life to vainly believe he was as wise as his Creator and chose to turn away from the moral teachings he was taught to believe in his youth.

Outline of Examples in Article to compare King Solomon’s history of what he did to what we are now experiencing in our Nation.

1.He multiplied wives. Only 50 percent of marriages succeed (google.) Single family households have increased from 12 percent in 1969 to 28 percent in the USA.

2. He multiplied gold and silver. The USA is thirty trillion dollars in debt by printings multiple dollars.

3. He multiplied horses. The USA just approved 750 billion dollars for defense.

Epilogue. King Solomons reign divided after his death which helped make it easier to be conquered. The USA already had a Civil War which Abraham Lincoln stated, a Nation divided cannot stand.

What turned Solomon from the right path? Greed to obtain and use money to further factors to engage in worldly pleasures such as sex, drugs,, etc. adds to moral degradations in our society.

But Solomon’s story could be the story of any of us if we are not careful to persevere in the ways of God. Lust, greed, fascination with the world. Add  motivations that result in abortions and shootings to greed along with the other factors evident in USA we read and hear in the news about rising crime rates of both tort and criminal laws.

In My Opinion

The writer as well as myself have experienced what he explains in his letter during one third timeframe of USA history of 240 years.

The clue to this conundrum is the writer mentioned God which indicates sometime in life he was taught religious values. However, in our contemporary times, private religious school are closing rapidly because most poor and middle-class families can no longer afford to send their children to be taught in depth their religious values. Add that the Silent Age and Baby Boomer age generations numbers taught to believe in God, are in the foreseeable future nearing the end of their lives.

In other words, we too have turned away for God mainly because, in my opinion, we no longer teach religious values to the majority of children in our Nation

Sadly, also in my opinion, for the writer to have hope in a bright future for our Nation is frankly, in my opinion, hopeless.

The only hope now, in my opinion, to reverse is to do more than repent as the article states. What we need to do is to vote in the 2022 election to elect legislators to support and pass school vouchers.

Perhaps if we teach religious moral values the USA will have some hope for a brighter future same as the writer who mentioned God in his letter to help heal our present imperfect Nation.

Regards and goodwill blogging.

If you read the letter, the reason is not automation that has caused jobs to decrease in the USA. It is because of folly of USA legislators and Corporations to allow USA manufacturing to be outsourced by more then 50 percent to global sources instead of USA workers.
