Was it political folly to sell USA uranium mines along with shutdown of USA oil exploration contribute to help Russia invade Ukraine?
The above Chicago Tribune feature political cartoon may only depict one USA trade folly.
The Purpose of This Post
Is to relate an ancient wisdom verse to this conundrum.
King Solomon
Don’t be surprised if you see a poor person being oppressed by the powerful and if justice is being miscarried throughout the land. For every official is under orders from higher up, and matters of justice get lost in red tape and bureaucracy.
(Ecclesiastes 5:8 NLT)
What’s My Point?
The above feature image cartoon only brings up one side of past and present political follies and the mechanisms pertaining to how the USA help fuel Russia higher ups oppressions in today’s news of the Russian invasion to obtain Ukraine natural resources.
In My Opinion
The USA needs to focus on a long-term energy strategy to remain energy independent from oppression by foreign powers making use of USA natural resource in the future.
Globalism is a contemporary name to describe what in ancient times was trade. While trade benefits an exchange of goods to benefit and profit from the exchange of goods and services of Nations.
It was foolish on the USA to trade away its manufacturing and natural assets to foreign powers and become dependent for vital goods and services to Known oppressors in their own Nations

You Decide
Is it time for the USA for Congress to examine our long-range strategies on globalism to make wise decisions to become dependent of global sources for vital goods and services and trade away USA uranium mines to know foreign oppressors of justice in their own Nations?

It’s ok, Rudy… it’s not about the Clintons anymore, and it[‘s not even about Trump, He’s fading fast because no one cares about him. Ukraine and trying to survive Putin is all that matters now.

Rudy.. think about it for a moment. Putin invading Ukraine has just shifted the international security and global commerce paradigm for years to come. It most assuredly has shifted our domestic politics. This isn’t about “Oh well.. Ukraine is lost so we can go back to old habits.”
At the moment the world democracies are united if for nothing more than a level of security fear that Putin will go further, and the economics of needing each other in order to isolate and separate Russia from the rest of the world. I can easily see that until Putin’s own people remove him he will simply be an international pariah and will want to lash out more in other ways, and maybe even with his nukes.
The domestic Trump pettiness will fade, Biden’s polling is already showing better. If the voters perceive Biden is performing well against Putin and leading the allies… the Trump GOP is history. President Xi is watching because the world is now fed up with demagogues, which means he does not get Taiwan unless he wants a nuke war. Rocket Man Kim better be watching as well.
We are in a whole new game now, Rudy.

You make a valid point.. but usually people will follow a goal.. the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel. Sadly, many goals can’t be measured that way, even if some politician promises an end.

It is going to be more difficult for Ukraine to use Afgan guerilla tactics because there is mountainous terrain which helped in Afganistan vs the flat farmland in Ukraine.
