Is the religious split because of West’s acceptance of homosexuality or something else?
An article titled: Analysis: Ukraine invasion splits Orthodox Church, isolates Russian patriarch, brings up another religious conundrum of the Sixth Commandment on the reason why Putin invaded Ukraine?
The Purpose of This Post
Is to relate an ancient wisdom verses comparison of Bible Old Testament to New Testament beliefs on reasons for war. Or in other words to address the Sixth Commandment Thou Shalt not Kill, or Murder, wording religious interpretation of religious beliefs reasons to condone killing during wars.
King Solomon – Time for War – Old Testament
To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. (Ecclesiastes 3: 1, 8 KJV)
Excerpt – Bible Verse
Jesus said that murder comes from the heart, and Christ went even beyond the sixth commandment when He said, “You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘Do not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’ But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment” (Matthew 5:21-22).
What’s My Point?
In a previous post, I questioned Putin’s motive or reasons for invading Ukraine and his support for the Orthodox Church in Russia that Stalin outlawed, but he reinstated.
My point is to wonder if the article writer was wise or foolish that stated the reason the Orthodox Leader reason that he condones Putin decision to invade Ukraine was based on the West condoning homosexuality.
In My Opinion
I am not a religious scholar qualified to provide religious interpretations of the Bible meanings of the Sixth Commandment.
However, I question the writer’s interpretations that that reason for the Orthodox leader anger or reasoning about reasoning homosexuality to support Putin’s invasion of Ukraine is justifiable to our Maker.
In other words, the Orthodox split on the reason for the invasion of Ukraine is a religious belief conundrum for the Orthodox church to interpret if they support Putin decision.
