Would it be wise or foolish to close all Chicago businesses when the sun sets every day?

The Chicago Tribune article titled: We can at least agree on this: Lets quit messing with our clocks, reported various opinions on the pros and cons of ending yearly time change of clocks.

One of the pros of extending light times of the day is it makes it safer for residence because of the higher number of crimes occur after dark in Chicago.

The Purpose of This Post

Is to relate ancient wisdom verses and an idiom to this conundrum,

King Solomon

The sun rises and the sun sets; it hurries away to a place from which it rises again. (Ecclesiastes 1:5)

As a door swings back and forth on its hinges, so the lazy person turns over in bed. (Proverb 26L14)

What’s My Point?

Most street wise vendors who have to travel to work or provide services in high crime areas of Chicago plan to provide their service in early morning hours and when most criminals are sleeping. Chicago Triune crime statics show a high correlation to support that most occur in nighttime dark hours.

My point is if we change to only use daylight saving times and early morning business hours according to the seasons.

In My Opinion

For example, in the summer there are as many as twelve hours of sunlight and in Decembers as little as six.

If we change working hours to only work early morning hours or work in the morning so no evening business hours occur at night instead of day.

This allows people will be safer by going to work in early darkness when the criminals like to sleep and change working and business times accordingly.

Most people reading this may think it to be foolish way for the majority of innocent law-abiding people to have to adjust their lives because of criminals. Most criminals are sluggards and too lazy to work being employed in a job that require waking up early hours when they prefer to just turn over when the alarm clock rings according to the above proverb.

I agree, but has any other solution working to date in Chicago other than to keep hiring more police, paying more taxes, will reduce crime or make it safer to live in Chicago

Or in other words, perhaps it may be the only wise method instead of foolish way to reduce crime since most crime takes place in the dark to favor the criminals who seem to prefer working in the later dark hours than the early morning dark hours.

If we discern this option, we are not losing any working or entertainment hours in our lives, on changing according to the idiom of early to bed, early to rise makes a man HEALTHIER, WEALTHIER, AND WISE.

And as King Solomon observed the sun can rises and setting times won’t change because its Creator planned it that way. But we mortals can change if we choose to make wise rather than foolish decisions what to do to live on the earth as our Creator planned when he inspired the Bible writers to help us make wise instead of foolish plans on our paths in life.

You Decide

Do we seem to have any other simple and less costly for taxpayers to choose that are working in Chicago?

Would changing times help less innocent hard-working victims of crime occur, or at least reduce the risk of by giving innocent people less risk by having to venture out in the dark to purchase goods and services in the dark?

Regard and goodwill blogging.
