Is it wise or foolish to distribute money to consumers, or to emulate WWII wisdom to win the war against inflation, more healthy foods to combat health problems caused by poor diet and, and shortage of energy?
The Chicago Tribune article titled: States may open Purse Strings, reported, Lawmakers consider sending checks to taxpayers to fight against inflation.
The Purpose of This Post
Is to relate ancient wisdom verses to discern this conundrum which may anger or provoke those most likely to not “inherit” from the truth and good practical and spiritual wisdom advice.
Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger settles in the lap of a fool. Do not say, “Why were the old days better than these?” For it is unwise of you to ask about this. Wisdom, like an inheritance, is good, and it benefits those who see the sun. (Ecclesiastes 7: 9-11)
What’s My Point?
While the above wisdom verse states it is not wise to look back and believe that the old days were better than these,, it was not intended to apply to eliminate the “cause” of what was good rather than the evil of the “old days”:
For example, “that by searching out the cause, he may, as far as it is in his power, apply remedies to make the times better; What is the cause that the former days were better? “
My point is sending dollars is an economy that has inflation only fuels more spenfing which adds inflation if the dollars are used to buy or produce unhealthy body or spirit commodities Such as cigarettes, alcohol, pot, or unhealthy foods.
In My Opinion,
Looking back at history to understand how, for example, to understand how England manage to feed their population in WWII. Would it be a wiser management of our current two problems in the USA, inflation and unhealthy food diets along with the truth.
The truth being that far too many of the poor families are using subsidies moneys to feed themselves with unhealthy products such as cigarettes, alchohol, recreational drugs such as cigarretes and pot instead of healthy foods.
Frankly, the truth is also very apparent if we only look at the appearance of many poor yet overweight families. Many buy high less expensive high carbohydrates junk foods because they are less costly than health foods, they can either afford or choose to use instead engage in use of unhealthy habits purchases.
Also, frankly, even King Solomon recognized the reasons why they do what they do in this proverb.
Give alcohol to a man who is going to die, and wine to those who are sad, that they may drink and forget their poverty, and remember their misery no more. (Proverbs 31:6, 7)
