Is USA schools’ curriculums to blame for Will Smith’s folly or something else, same as King Solomon?

The Chicago Tribune opinion article titled: Will Smith, Chris Rock and the night drama slapped comedy in the face, ended with this statement:

“Give out some Oscars to comedians. We need more laughter and less violence in this world”

The Purpose of This Post

Is to relate an ancient proverb and a clue what to water we really need to do in USA schools both private and public to reduce the folly we read and hear occurring every day in the news.

King Solomon

For as the crackling of thorns under a pot, so is the laughter of the fool: this also is vanity. (Ecclesiastes 7:6)

 Matthew Poole’s Commentary

The crackling of thorns, which for a time make a great noise and blaze, but presently waste themselves, and go out without any considerable effect upon the meat in the pot.

So; so vanishing and fruitless.

What’s My Point?

Will Smith in youth attended both a private religious school and a public school.

Yet, he foolishly slapped a comedian in public instead of following the wisdom as explained in a previous post and proverb advice of an ancient wiseman and fool, King Solomon.

My point is anyone who has been taught in depth the available wisdom and love in the Bible, in depth, would better understand how vanity is the root cause of what King Solomon observed the madness and folly of humans.

In My Opinion,

Ancient wisdom is not taught in depth in the USA schools both private religious and public.

Notice I stated in depth.

Many people who identify as being religious in the USA are by affiliation, meaning they never were taught in depth the wisdom and love in the Bible in their youth.

Or if we take for example, that even though Will Smith did attend a private religious school in his youth, that the school either obviously never focused on ancient wisdom, or Will Smith did not listen pr or understand or become interested in ancient wisdom

Or is he did, he repeated the same folly as King Solomon which was to be blessed with life, be educated in youth, and become a victim at the height of his career to fall victim to vanity.

King Solomon in later life wrote Ecclesiastes when he recognized his own folly when he began with his following verses

The words of the Preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem.

2Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity.(Ecclesiastes 1:1-2 KJV)

Here are a few sayings-so the something else I believe best explains what drove Will Smith’s folly on that night.

“Education without values, as useful as it is, seems rather to make man a cleverer devil.” —C. S. Lewis

One seldom recognizes the devil when he is putting his hand on your shoulder.” —Albert Speer

The devil’s happy when the critics run you off.” —Criss Jami

In my opinion, the best solution to bring closure to this incident is for both Will Smith and Chris Rock to stand together on a world stage and ask sincerely instead of jokingly for forgiveness of each other send the viewers and explain the folly teo reasons why they are asking for forgiveness..

  1. Forgiveness is the only effective solution in history of mankind to ever bring about being long lasting close to mankind’s follies, instead of using short term cackling of thorns opinions of the ending statement in the Chicago Tribune.
  2. Forgiveness is an action of humility which is the opposite of vanity. And, which if sincere may help being about closure of human follies we all will engage or experience in our lifetimes.

You Decide

Regardless of whether we are religious or atheists who do not believe in a devil, if we substitute vanity instead of the devil to the majority of the list of sayings, would the same root cause of the majority of follies all related to human follies attributable to the vanities in life?

If after reading the Source Links, is it time for USA to return to teaching the Wisdom, Love, and Forgiveness, in depth, in the Bible, to reduce the folly we continue to read and hear every day in the news in the USA and World.

Does the world need in adduton to love, more wisdom or more comedy to result in less violence we read and hear in the news in the USA and World?

Regards and goodwill blogging.
